Wrye Bash Load Order Question

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 9:59 pm

I have a problem where wryebash won't let me modify the load order in specific ways. Lets say my mod order is this:

My current load order is on the left, and the load order I need is on the right. For most of the list I can use ctrl + arrow
in order to switch things around. For instance, I can move F below E. But the group CBAD is all highlighted pink, and are
dark red if selected in specific combos with other mods because they have some sort of reference ID conflict. For some damn reason
I CANNOT move B below A, and I cannot move A above B (tautology, I know). Any suggestions on how I can force this? I
can move the stuff in Oblivion Mod Manager, but Wryebash just forces the load order back to whatever it thought it was before.

C A
B B
A C
D D
F E
E F

Right click at the top of the Wrye mod list window(where it's written File Load Order etc) and uncheck "lock times".

edit:
Also you should use BOSS to order your modlist, its results are generally very good.

Turns out that only fixed the problem in a few places.

I have noticed that the ones that seem to we unwilling to move past each other have the same last edit time. I have unchecked "lock times". Anything else I can do?

Wrye Bash will always enforce(as far as I know), that a master should load before its child.
Is there such a problem in your modlist?
Check the master tab on the right it should list the masters for each mod.

If that's the case you shouldn't put a master after its child in any case.

These two things are not masters of one another. The problem I'm having is mostly that I have mod ZZZ waay above mods G and H and mod ZZY below G and H. I need to get ZZZ all the way down, but I can't get it past G and H, and I also can't get ZZY up past them either. And I can't get G and H past each other.

If you could list the name of the mods you can't move that would maybe clarify it(and their masters if you feel up to it) :).

There's an option in Wrye Bash, using the right click menu I think, that resets all the mod load times at once. You pick a time for the first one and everything else is put in sequence after that. This will eliminate the matching load times that some of your mods have, which is causing your problem.

Running BOSS would likely also fix this.

Sometimes just opening up OBMM fixes the same save time of the mods. If nothing else OBMM is easier to change the load order of mods, and BOSS will 95% of the time get the load order right anyway.

I can't get Better Cities Full: City Defenses below Better Cities Full, for instance. The first I'm pretty sure is supposed to modify the latter.

Or FCOM_Knights below OldCrowInn,

And i'm pretty sure those two are pretty much unrelated.

Like 2 previous posters said, try running BOSS, it will most likely fix it :).

As far as I know, Better Cities - Full City Defenses should be loaded before Better Cities Full - so maybe someone is trying to tell you that they know better :)
