Wrye Bash Question?

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 12:54 pm

Hey everyone,

I've been off of these forums for a long time, but after coming on and seeing FCOM, I've decided to boot up OB again and load up some mods =)

It's all starting to come back to me, and I got Wrye Bash up and running, but I just have a quick question. When I click the Wrye Bash Launcher file, Bash DOES start up, but under file type it says "Python File (no console)." I searched Google for that and it seems like most people who have that file type name can't get Bash to work. Since it is (seems to be) working for me, should I just leave well enough alone or is the "(no console)" a larger underlying problem that I should address?

Thanks for the help!

If you mean the file Wrye Bash Launcher.pyw when you look in windows explorer, then that's normal. At least I hope so, says the same for me. :)

Yup that's the one, glad to hear I'm not the only one =)

In an unrelated question, after installing the "Unofficial Mods Patch," In Wrye Bash the "DLC Thieves Den - Unofficial Patch.esp," "DLC Thieves Den - Unofficial Patch - SSSB.esp" and "DL Battlehorn Castle - Unofficial Patch" are in red, anyone know what the cause of this could be?

Thanks again!

There is nothing wrong with a pyw
it's for windows.

If you would like to see all the console stuff, rename it to .py instead of .pyw
Mmmmmm console.... mmmmmmm

First of all, you don't need the -SSSB.esp patch, it's obsolete. Have you run BOSS? It ususally means more than one esp has the same date. BOSS will fix that.

Thank you for the info, I'll delete the .SSSB and I do have BOSS but I have yet to run it, I'll do that now!

edit: I just ran BOSS and it fixed the Thieves den portion of my question, but the DLC Battlehorn Castle still has a red checkbox. However, I'm now assuming that I simply don't have Battlehorn Castle =P It doesn't come in the Knights of the Nine EP right?

edit edit: Yeah I'm a fool, I assumed Battlehorn came with KOTN but it doesn't so I'm getting it now and I'm assuming it'll fix my problem =)

Heheh, yeah, that'll definitely solve the problem if you have the file it patches! :) Common mistake, would have been nice if it did come with the other DLC's.
