Python is the language Bash is written in, you can't simply remove it :)

Wrye Bash IS standalone. As stated above, it was scripted and coded entirely in Python, so trying to use Bash without Python would be like a human trying to live without a brain.

http://www.fliggerty.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=3646 is a version of Wrye Mash the works without installing python separately. It is certainly possible. But no, I have not heard of a Wrye Bash version.

True. But in this case all necessary python files for Wrye Mash or Wrye Bash (if there is gonna be a Wrye Bash Stand Alone) is included in an exe file.

It's not a stand alone, because a stand alone is an exe file like http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1167004-relz-mlox-a-tool-for-anolyzing-and-sorting-your-load-order/ which is a tool of python or non-python based version.

I've used Wrye Mash Stand Alone since it was released in summer 2010 and I also heard about a Wrye Bash Stand Alone, but only briefly in one of the Wrye Bash now locked threads (perhaps #60?).

Ok I just download Wrye Bash 291.
So Python is already inside the installer with Wrye Bash 291?
So why the install tells me that I need Python for Wry Bash to work.

It doesn't contain Python as such, just an installer. It should start installing Python automatically. If not try downloading and installing http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22368 from the WB download page.

I think this is why you get people who are sometimes like "I won't use Wrye Bash." I think they see the whole process of installing the Python support for Bash to work as too complicated and just shut down. Stick with it! Bash is an essential tool.

I asked the same thing here:

http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1160924-relz-wrye-bash-thead-59/page__view__findpost__p__17106939

Read the posts after that, and in the next page, for more info.

So do you think there is a possibility of there being a Stand Alone?

Um... Am I the only one who thinks this is totally unnecessary, and possibly even a rather poor idea?
