Okay. So it's not just me then. I noticed that the Sourceforge PyFFI page still works fine. So it must be just certain pages.

Stand alone meaning what exactly?

Besides all of the points Leonardo2 pointed out... I think a Wrye Bash Stand Alone would bring a lot of convenience to end users. There's no more need to download two things. Normally, one would have to download Wrye Python (which is a VERY good installer, I admit), then Wrye Bash, before being able to use the program.

Then there are those picky users who don't really like their "Installed Programs" being filled with so many entries like what Wrye Python is doing (makes uninstalling a chore, there would be many things to uninstall to fully and cleanly remove the Python setup on the PC). There are also users who don't really like the system changes that Wrye Python could possibly make to their system, as if it feels like a "commitment" (the same reason why some people prefer small apps and tools that don't have an installer; they'd rather just copy it to a directory, and when they want to get rid of it, it would be as easy as simply deleting the files and not worry about having redundant registry entries, temporary files, etc; that would be left behind after deleting).

Anyway, it was just an enquiry because I was under the impression that the developers of both Wrye Mash and Wrye Bash would somehow be related, and it made me wonder how come there's Wrye Mash Standalone but no Wrye Bash Standalone. :)

That's quite simple because Melchor doesn't own Oblivion and probably he wanted to improve Wrye Mash since he is a python programmer.

So would this be a good time to once more beg, plead, and grovel to see the AI.Packages patcher added to CBash? :)

Hey, I'm wondering where my bashed patch went, because it disappeared. I reinstalled Wrye Bash and its still not there. If this was already answered, or its in guide, let me know, but its 7 in the morning and i've been up all night, so I would appreciate it if someone could tell me. Thanks.

EDIT: I mean my Bashed Patch .esp

I've a few problems trying to install Wrye Bash and hope this is the right place to get some help. I'm sorry if my questions have been covered elsewhere, I couldn't find the information I was looking for.

I'm trying to install Wrye Bash (for the first time) for about an hour now, without making much progress. I'm having some problems installing one of the Python components; "PyWin 32 for Python 2.6".

I installed following comonents with no issues at all:
- Python 2.6.6
- wxPython 2.8.11.0-ansi
- Python Comtypes 0.6.2

However I'm not sure how to execute/build the PyWin file. When I open the "Setup.py" I only get a command screen that instantly dissapears. I took a screenshot of the screen, but that didn't help me out much either.

Could someone tell me how this is done exactly? Or point me in the right direction where to find the necessary information?

I suppose I'm missing something obvious here, it wouldn't be the first time...

Thanks.

Just grab http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22368 and the Wrye Bash 291 Self Installer to install it. You might need to reboot just do so if prompted. :)

Alright, I'll try that instead, thanks. (I downloaded it but wasn't sure if it'd work well since appearantly it installs Python 2.6.5).
Plus being a bit stubborn thinking I could do it on my own. :P

Thanks.

I have another suggestion. Sorry, if it was mentioned before by someone else.

I would like to be able to assign installers to groups the way I can do with esps. This way you have a better overview over your installers and see which ones belong to UI improvements or patches or whatever. That would be useful for guys like me that make all their mods BAIN-ready. What do you think?

You can Add Markers which allow you to section off your packages. Right-click on the Package header, select Add Marker, name it and drag it to the right spot in the installer list. Or were you looking for something more than that?

I will try putting my Pagefile back to default settings and we will see if that will work.

That was no help.

Still getting this error in the windows console:

Exception raised: Not enough storage is available to process this command.
Unable to memory map 'Oblivion.esm' for read only.
Failed Load Not enough storage is available to process this command.

Anyone else here using AVG for antivirus and successfully rebuilding their BP?

Try ditching AVG and getting Microsoft Security Essentials. It is a better program, as far as malware detection rates go.

Not to sidetrack too far, but... Avast is also a good alternative, IMO.

With any AV, I suggest switching off all realtime detection when playing, or even configuring stuff. As long as you're not doing anything online or whatever at the same time, of course. ;)

Hey there Waruddar (I left this message here for when you come back!)

I've found some bugs in the CBash Bashed Patch and wanted to report them... It's possible you're already aware of these problems, but is safer not to assume that. Didn't check too far bach in the thread history and I wasn't following too closely the development process.

Here's the list of problems as found by TES4Edit when I ran 'Check for Errors' on the finished Bashed Patch:

- All the "SCRI - Script -> [xxxx] " above shown the same problem as the screenshot above.

- This two seem caused by the use of an unresolvable FormID in kuertee mod's (TES4Edit says "unresolvable but maybe engine internally defined")

- All the MGEF shown in the error list have some unknown flag (for TES4Edit at least)

Last thing, just if it's needed here's my load order (is still under construction and may have errors as I have been troubleshooting a lot while trying to solve a problem with a mod which was failing to initialize properly in game):

Not to sidetrack too far, but... Avast is also a good alternative, IMO.

With any AV, I suggest switching off all realtime detection when playing, or even configuring stuff. As long as you're not doing anything online or whatever at the same time, of course. ;)

Yes, realtime protection (AVG calls it "Resident Shield") is off while I configure/use Bash. I get the error anyway.

Problems with this file should be fixed as of 291. Are you still having trouble with it?

I'm using 290 - will update and check.

EDIT: Yes, with 291 the file is removed even if force closing the app. :)

You can Add Markers which allow you to section off your packages. Right-click on the Package header, select Add Marker, name it and drag it to the right spot in the installer list. Or were you looking for something more than that?

Yeah. The problem with the sections is the install order of the packages. The section order isn`t necessarily the same as the install order, so packages get mixed up. But for now, I`ll try to stick with the sections and see, if I can sort the problems out.

Anyone else here using AVG for antivirus and successfully rebuilding their BP?
Look i do have AVG in one of my machines and gave me no problem ever with WB
Maybe use Process Monitor to log what happens and send the log to some guru here

Heh ? Section order in BAIN is exactly the same as install order - do you mean load order ?
As for your suggestion I (and others) have suggested making markers collapsible - this would indeed be a huge help with huge install orders :)

Yes and that`s the problem. That`s why I would like to have a "Group" column. Groups should be independent of the install order, sections are dependent on the install order.

Hrm... say we added a "Group" column and the ability to tag each package with a group. If you then sorted the packages by group, what would you want to do with the resulting list? You couldn't change the install order easily in this view. Are you just looking to isolate all packages that match a certain tag? Would a "search" feature (possibly combined with a "tagging" feature) meet your needs?

Well the idea is that more or less groups of mods with similar properties have more or less the same install order - see http://tesivpositive.animolious.com/?page=my_bain_package_list for instance
I would find the idea of groups in BAIN superfluous - unless you could provide a counterexample maybe
