not any time soon from me... too big a file to upload on dialup; chance near the end of the month when Lojack is back online; but really no significant changes in Python 2.6.5->2.6.6, so not very important.

An issue remains from as far back as v286: a number of mods is erroneously recognized as mergeable. I'm sure about MM_TextLocks, ChaseCameraMod, MM_TextHorse, MM_TextLoading, there may be others. It would frankly be a bit of a PITA to check them all manually to find out whether they all work when mergeable or not. Can you fix it?

Sorry, this may actually turn out to be a leftover of my old config. I've recreated Bashed Patch from scratch and these are no longer marked as mergeable.

I have a question about BAIN.

When you install a mod, the box turns green in the BAIN window. If you do something like modify the ESP, or if the mod comes with an INI, and you modify it, the box turns a different color. I make adjustments to the INI files included with mods all the time. I'd like to know if there is some way to install a mod, adjust the INI, and return the BAIN window box back to green? Anneal doesn't do it.

I have a question about BAIN.

I normally make my chnages to INI files before installing so that my changes are part of the BAIN package. You can also copy your changed INI to the BAIN package (ie make a project, do the copy, repack, etc) and then refresh to get it green

Is it intended that the Bashed Patch lists my entire load order as its master irrespective of whether some mods are integrated - wholly or partly - within the Bashed Patch?

I tried to uncheck Companion Compatibilty.esp (load order attached) and the Bashed Patch went unchecked too because CC.esp was one of its masters - even though it's neither merged nor imported by any of its stuff.

Or Sync from Data: (Projects only.) (check the help) :)

Is it intended that the Bashed Patch lists my entire load order as its master irrespective of whether some mods are integrated - wholly or partly - within the Bashed Patch?

I tried to uncheck Companion Compatibilty.esp (load order attached) and the Bashed Patch went unchecked too because CC.esp was one of its masters - even though it's neither merged nor imported by any of its stuff.

Not sure what causes it in your case but I don't have Companion Compatibility.esp listed as a master to the Bashed Patch - and I can also uncheck CC w/o BP becoming unchecked.

I rebuilt the BP and found that the Default Icons component does modify 2 records in CC.esp :P Sorry for the bother!

Is there any chance of us users of Wrye Mash getting some love for the new developments going into Wrye Bash? There are still quite a few of us using this great tool.


Be patient, one of these days someone will get around to it, I'm sure.

I would love to see the addition of the feature to save installer loadouts, similar to the load list save option in the mods tab.

Thanks. I just wanted to know if updates to Wrye Mash were still forthcoming, or if they were shelved forever. I love what's been implemented in Wrye Bash lately.

After you install Wrye Bash and Python how to you launch it? I double clicked on the launcher but nothing happened 2 icons , bolt and bash went black but that's it. Wtf.

Also is this compatible with OBMM, and I can't find any of this info in the damn read me or anything.

I have to admit I'm not familiar with the term "loadout", but export/import/save/revert state functionality is planned for the installer tab.

Have you downloaded and installed the Wrye Python 03a package from the Wrye Bash TesNexus page?

Also is this compatible with OBMM, and I can't find any of this info in the damn read me or anything.

You can certainly use both of them at the same time, but anything installed with OBMM won't have the benefits of Wrye Bash's package conflict management system.

I dont think there is, apart from doing PrtSc and then ctrl-v into something like paint dot net and upload a screeny for your options.

Dont think theres a huge amount of New options in 291 since 271 though. Have you seen the second post of this topic (or screen 6 of the http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35230 - See the images tab there) - Just making sure you are only using the correct ones, noticed formids mentioned earlier which is a major bloater of the bashed patch and should not ordinarily be used.



Thank you so much for the information. I did indeed discover that the formid options were checked. Once I unchecked everything that I originally checked, the build took 3 minutes. I will experiment a bit with some other settings, but leave the formids alone for now. :)

    Older/Newer versions _may_ work but those are probably the most widely used and tested

I normally make my chnages to INI files before installing so that my changes are part of the BAIN package. You can also copy your changed INI to the BAIN package (ie make a project, do the copy, repack, etc) and then refresh to get it green


I'll try that. Thanks. I usually make my changes before, too. But I am constantly tweaking stuff, so that sometimes I end up making changes after the files have been installed.

not quite... Python 2.6.6 was advertised as bugfix only... but had one not backwards compatible change... which totally stopped Wrye Bash from starting up; so for 287 Bash requires Python 2.6.5 (or hand changing of any line hmm 81 (or so) from startupinfo.dwFlags |= subprocess.STARTF_USESHOWWINDOW to startupinfo.dwFlags |= _subprocess.STARTF_USESHOWWINDOW and adding the line import _subprocess above there.)
But really you should just update to Wrye Bash 291.

Thanks. I just wanted to know if updates to Wrye Mash were still forthcoming, or if they were shelved forever. I love what's been implemented in Wrye Bash lately.

yep, I keep meaning to do some backporting and other stuff... any particular desires for Mash to have?

When installing the latest SVN (866), do I keep the folder structure intact? There is an "experimental" folder in the package. Just drag and drop into "Oblivion"?

EDIT:

I assume you just drag and drop. That's what I did and Bash works fine.

What is this "bait" stuff anyway?

Nevermind. I found a readme in the package.

I loaded up the installers tab and didn't see any differences though. I'll continue to read the readme and see if I missed anything.

EDIT 3:

I see. You have to launch BAIT separately. I hope it's not going to be like that in the future. It would be better, IMHO, if it were integrated into Bash's main GUI.

myk002 is coming up with a proposal to replace the Installers tab and sharing the development for the Wrye Bash team to have a look, looks very nice too a lot of work has gone into it already - I would stick to the Data and Mopy folders if just trying out the svn, you dont need the experimental one.
