[RELZ]Wrye Bash -- Thread 36

should also work if you just disable and reenable auto (so it is back on auto but that will reset the records for that plugin).

Export Scripts fixed (had a fix in there for in case f.e. you clicked 'cancel' on the skip prefix prompt... which worked except that it was an almost identical situation which also returned true to my if question if you entered nothing in the box (a single x would work but blank would fail)).. thanks.
Export (and I guess Import as well) book text coming up :) sometime next week or so.
Pacific Morrowind

When I left it a blank, and clicked "OK", nothing happened.
But If I typed space or other word, it worked. thx.

When I try to refresh/"click on" the installer tab I get this in 279

File "C:\Program Files (x86)\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Mopy\bosh.py", line 10967, in refreshStatus

File "C:\Program Files (x86)\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Mopy\bosh.py", line 9890, in refreshStatus
for file,sizeCrc in dirty_sizeCrc.iteritems():
RuntimeError: dictionary changed size during iteration

I got similar error when I updated one of BAIN packages. The way to fix it is to right click on Package Tab and tick Anneal All.

It wont let me get to the menu.

try to delete BashSettings.dat in Documents\My Games\Oblivion\ folder , or better back up the file. Restart Wrye and see if you can right click on Package Tab now.

I am having some issues with Wrye Bash. I downloaded the new version from Tesnexus together with the Python package, but my Wrye Bash keeps throwing errors.

What I am getting is http://i45.tinypic.com/2m5i4np.png (somehow I can't add images here).

It happens on a few mods that have bash tags. The above error is from Unofficial Oblivion Patch.

What I have tried/done:

- Installed Python package.
- Copy/paste Wrye Bash (278b).
- Throwing out errors.
- Uninstalled Python Package(s)
- Register sweep of any left overs.
- Deleted Python25 folder in my %programfiles%
- Deleted Wrye Bash files in %documents%
- Re-installed packages + Wrye Bash.
- Still throwing out errors.

I did notice that my mods are actually bash tagged as can be seen http://i47.tinypic.com/2gy1shk.png. However they do not show up in my Bash Tag "window".

Any idea what could be causing this, and a possible fix? I am currently unable to build a bashed patch, since I am afraid I will corrupt everything.

Would appreciate some advise,

Also getting this error with the Installers tab. If I close out the error, then I can get to the tab, but it's totally empty and nothing works. Closing and restarting, then going to the tab again does the scan and then gives the crash again at the end.

well that explains why it is not importing names properly (if the mod isn't loaded it won't import data for it)... but no idea why it isn't seeing OB.esm and the other two as inactive... I'll se what I can figure out; what version of Bash?,
Pacific Morrowin

279, I had just updated from 271 before posting. Also, I'd hazard a guess that it has something to do with BALO: I never had any problems in my earlier installs when I didn't use BALO.

edit: just checked with BALO and lock times turned off. Same result - it's not scanning ESMs.

second edit: I also came across a wierdness in BAIN that I didn't see reported in the last couple of pages: every new package I add to BAIN comes up with a light grey background (the "some files won't be installed" colour), and when I check the skipped files tab it lists the full path of the archive (ie, games\Oblivion Mods\Bash Installers\Less Annoying Magic Experience v1.7 - BAIN.7z). And yes, I've doublechecked, there is no corresponding .7z file inside the package. Rolling back to 271 solves the problem.

Yeah, BAIN is now placing the name of the archive itself in the Skipped files tab. Not sure why. It hasn't affected actual install, but, it is kind of strange.

You could try a work around suggested in an earlier http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=1079336&view=findpost&p=15720565

Any ideas regarding http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=1079336&view=findpost&p=15730151? I have run out of options, since I have no idea what else I could do.

I however tried an older version of Wrye Bash, and it stopped the errors at all the mod files. However the UOP.esp is still gaving me the same issues. At first I thought it was random, but I uninstalled/reinstalled it and the same issues occur. No difference between the regular (installer) file, or the hotfix(.esp).

Hmm... I hope it's not intentional, because otherwise there's no easy way to tell if there's something in the package that shouldn't be there - I rely on that light grey background to help me catch errors. I've caught a couple of mistakes that way, ie forgetting to put things into the right top directories (meshes, docs, whatever) when I'm BAINifying old mods...

It's obviously not intentional :).

Am I the only one thinking those 2 versions of Wrye Bash should get special names?
Wrye Bash v278 - The Necronomicon version
Wrye Bash v279 - The Cthulhu version

Hopefully v280 will be the Heaven version.
No offense meant to anyone :P.

The plot thickens.

It seems that Bash will load my ESMs... just not Cobl Main.esm. I experimented with renaming it, on the off chance... but no difference. And it's not just with import names; I also tested tweak names and darnify books. Neither makes any patch changes that include cobl main. This is with Bash 271 and 279.

I'm using Cobl v1.73. I'll try rolling back and see if there's any difference.

edit: no difference when rolling back Cobl a few versions. It's not accessing cobl main.esm at all: things like alchemical catalogs and cobl exhaust are not being processed even when ticked in the rebuild patch dialog.

And something's wonky with accessing Oblivion.esm - tweak names (the one that prefixes body part and weapon type codes) doesn't process Oblivion.esm entries (and yes, I had all the sub-options ticked).

and that is with 279?
If so try one last thing: delete table.dat & table.dat.bak from Oblivion Mods/bash mod data/
Pacific Morrowind

OK Here is where I am at. I have 279 I deleted the table.dat and the table.dat.bak from the folder I dont know which problem it was supposed to fix. Seeing as I have 2 problems. It did not fix either of them. "I think I will just throw my hands in the air and Say the words "I Surrender""

1. The common Error that most have being the traceback. Now I have tried to click automatic with that On then off. But nothing is working as in the boxes on the right does not have the information for that particular mod it has the info for the last mod that worked example ooo waterfish works so if I click on that then OOO I get the error and all the info on the right is for OOO Waterfish. I have also removed all of bash and reinstalled and removed and backtracked to a previous install and only got different errors.

2. The better cities C.Water Error. I have tried I dont know how many times to deselect the C.water Tag *Automatic* was not selected in the begining. I selected and then deselected Automatic and then tried to remove the tag for cwater. I have also tried the uninstall rebash start game save and then reinstall method. I have also tried the Tagslist.txt edit to remove cwater "Bettercities" was not listed in there only I think UOP for cwater.
Sorry am gettting a head ache from this I will just leave it alone for now untill next update of bash. It is a good program this just happens sometimes. As they say you cannt make an omlet with out breaking a few eggs. this omlet just has some shell fragment. Thanks for all of your help.

When are we going to get an option to make all weapon enchantments cost zero charge per strike? :cake:

...
umh I'll look into that for a new tweaker.

Pacific Morrowind

Woah, really? Thanks :D The reason I've never used enchanted weapons is that it's seemed incredibly silly that the enchantment only works fifteen or so times before I need a new soul gem. Enchanted weapons should be enchanted, full stop. Like in D&D. It's silly, if you ask me.

I admittedly haven't checked this thread, but my copy of Wrye Bash seems to have issues retrieving the bash tags from the UOP (v2.2.4 Hotfix version).

Traceback (most recent call last): File "D:\Games\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Mopy\basher.py", line 1350, in OnItemSelected	self.details.SetFile(modName) File "D:\Games\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Mopy\basher.py", line 1462, in SetFile	tagsStr = '\n'.join(sorted(modInfo.getBashTags()))TypeError: sequence item 0: expected string, Path found

Renaming the UOP esp file to something else fixes it, but that's not exactly a good solution.

Hi.

This is not related to Wrye Bash, but I want to contact the team currently working on it (I heard that Wrye no longer works on it), but I wasn't sure who to PM. I'm basically working on a http://www.invision.tesalliance.org/forums/index.php?/topic/2320-tes-interior-data-random-dungeon-generator/ for modders, and some tips on the inner workings of the .esp file would be helpful (I've only got so far).

So, who do I contact?

The easiest way is to use the construction set. Now I remember for morrowwind they had something kinda like what you are talking about but it was and out of game program, I think you are talking about a while in game program which I am fairly sure would not work in the least may be I am wrong on that, but I dont think so. The best way to find out is to start a topic not enter one so your question can be answered correctly.

Oh and bye the Bye. I finally got all of the errors fixed for the track back and the C.water. I ended up totally removing anything associated with Bash. including the Bashpatch. all files and folders. and reinstalled 277. :intergalactic: I had no choice seeing as oblivion would not load OOO and UOP due to previous bashing.
After I did the reistall for 277 the fix for the automatic worked just fine with no problems to remove the C.water tag. I do want to say thanks for everyones Help. I am now going to sleep the rest of the wicked its been 36 hours + staying awake up. :snoring:

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Tes4Mod:Mod_File_Format is a good place to start. From there, you can look at basher.py for the rest, but it's a bit messy. Someone recently offered to get the source code for TES4Edit, but I can't remember who or what thread :banghead:

Wrye bash won't seem to esmify files anymore. Downloading latest version didn't help.
It turns blue, with no error, but in the CS the file shows up as a plugin, and not a master. Is this a problem with wrye bash, or the CS?
