no - copy and past (or extract what/ever) from the Archive to the same folder that oblivion.exe is and say yes to all.
(and I'll try to get the exe version up tonight.)

Ok. I copied Bash 276 into my Oblivion folder, so both the data files folder and the mopy folder are in the correct place. Then I installed Python 2.6.4 and wxpython 2.8.10.1 ansi. Now how do I get Bash to run? Sorry for the ignorance, I looked at the readme's and tried to find the answer here but I couldn't. Thank you!

You also need to do Comtypes (see OP) after Python 2.6.4 and WXPython 2.8.10.1 ansi
http://pypi.python.org/pypi/comtypes/0.6.1 (look for the download url there)

After that go into your Oblivion\mopy folder and look for

Wry Bash Launcher.pyw

Right click it and send to desktop.

hmmn never seen that before... what version of python do you have? (It will (should and does for everyone that I know of) work on Python 2.5.x and 2.6.x - see links in the first post, I'd recommend getting Python 2.6.x

At your suggestion, I downloaded and installed Python 2.6.4 as default (previously was 2.5.something). I also upgraded all bash components to 276. Rebuilt my bashed patch again, but the dialog box warning still pops up. I took a gander at (what appears to be) the offending bosh.py file, but haven't really studied it to see whether the cause lies within.

I was concerned because some of my older save games were crashing when I attempted to load them; however, this turns out to be caused (somehow) by the AFK-Weye mod, which I added to my current game a month or so ago.

In any event, my bashed patches seem to work fine, but the dialog box warning does bother me...

Minor Bug report: v2.76 ignores Skip Voices when selected in BAIN.


Not only "Skip Voices", Skip DistantLOD is affected by this bug too and perhaps all other Skip options are affected.

When I used the Tweak Setting: Remove Quests marker option, I get this http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=1032788. I haven't checked if this is an issue with using both that setting and the option to disable quest markers in the COBL config options at the same time, but I will check that out soon.

If you are using 275 version, that link also has a Wrye Python 01 installer amongst the files to download.


I am having a problem with 276, (I have un-installed previous python setup before installing 276 and new Python 2.6.4 and wxpython 2.8.10.1 ansi and Comtypes 0.61)......

Are you not getting the dialog box that asks you if you want to activate the Bashed Patch (if it was unselected when it was rebuilt)? As far as I'm aware (from my experience), this has been the method for a while now. It's a bit annoying, but I try to think of it as a reminider to deacitvate all merged mods, graphics-tagged mods and the Bashed Patch itself before merging (Bash offers to deactivate all Filter tagged mods itself, so I don't have to worry about them).

After building, a dialog comes up asking if I want to activate the Patch, and when I do, all the deactivated, merged and limited-merged mods come back by themselves, with the correct character in the checkbox, without me having to endlessly click through changing checkmarks to plusses and stars (which is seriously tedious).

However, you don't get this dialog if the Bashed Patch is active while building.... or presumably if Bash is broken. But I haven't seen any sort of "auto-reactivation" without confirmation dialog for a looooooooong time, so I'm not sure if your report indicates brokenness, unless you're not actually getting the dialog box.

If I re-select all mods (even green ones so they all have a tick instead of +) then I get the dialogue to auto de-select which it does. But on completion of re-building the bashed patch I get the above screenshot errors, and the mods de-selected do not become selected. If I do a further re-build, this time clicking once on all green mods so they have a plus, then un-tick the bashed patch, right click on it and choose re-build bashed patch, because all mods are now marked properly for merging there is no warning, but I still get the error box and again the green marked for merging become un-selected along with the bashed patch.

Edit: Forgot to mention before I re-build I run BOSS via the Wrye Bash button, so all mods become properly marked anyway before running re-build bashed patch.

I think for now I am going to revert to 275 and Wrye Python 01 installers.

EDIT 2 : Just reverted back to previous version after un-installing 276 and the new python setup - All is working as it should.
So either I messed up with the new python setup (cant see how its pretty straight forward), or something about the new 276 bash was wrong.

Hello smart internetz peoples.

It seems my Wrye Bash is having a problem. I got a good, working uFCOM install in yesterday, and all went well with rebuilding my patch and whatnot, but then I installed the Oblivion Stutter Remover with the Wrye fix for heap mode 1, and now my Wrye Bash won't open at all.
I click the shortcut and it loads for a second than stops. Nothing at all pops up but I know my computer is working for about a second after I click it. I don't mind re-installing it just to get it to work, but I just would like to make sure I don't have to do anything special to make sure it doesn't bork my Oblivion installation.
Can I just uninstall it like normal then reinstall and rebuild the Bashed Patch?

I just downloaded Wyre Bash for the first time and am having the same problem as RavinXX.
I was wondering if the Mopy\Data folder needs to be merged with the Oblivion\Data folder.

I got impatient and when ahead with the reinstall and it worked.

@Bleeding0rific3: You did use the python installer on the http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22368 page right? And when you say "same problem" does that mean that you tried installing the OSR4 alpha too?

That fix should no longer be necessary as it should already be part of the current Bash code. That was only for older versions of Bash where the fix hadn't been incorporated yet.

Oh I see. Well now I know. Thanks.

@BleedingOrifac3: OSR is Oblivion stutter remover. On most computers it helps increase performance in Oblivion at least a little. If you have OBSE, then by all means get it. And try a reinstall of Wrye Bash 275, worked for me.

It's most likely this right here:

Try moving Leveled Creatures up to just above Optional New Items, and I'll bet your color notification will go away.

I am having a problem with 276, (I have un-installed previous python setup before installing 276 and new Python 2.6.4 and wxpython 2.8.10.1 ansi and Comtypes 0.61)......

Also after Bash rebuilds the bashed patch, all mods marked green for merging, no longer re-select automatically on completion of the build. The Bashed patch also remains un-selected.

I'm having this exact same problem. It cropped up tonight while adding some mods and rebuilding - but removing the mods didn't fix it.

Selectively removing items, I've narrowed the new error to a setting in "Tweak Settings". With that category left out of the patch, I got no error.

Confirming now...

With 'Timescale' checked on and set to 15 (have not confirmed other settings), the above error occurs and the review window is not shown. When 'Timescale' is unchecked, it builds correctly.

Not only "Skip Voices", Skip DistantLOD is affected by this bug too and perhaps all other Skip options are affected.

@@alt3rn1ty & DarthGreg: doh... testing feature which I thought I'd commented out before releasing... obviously not! just don't select that and it will (I hope) be fine until I release a new version which doesn't leave that in.
I just downloaded Wyre Bash for the first time and am having the same problem as RavinXX.
I was wondering if the Mopy\Data folder needs to be merged with the Oblivion\Data folder.

definitely not (certainly won't work if you do that)... get a bug dump (instructions in the readme - included in archive and named wryebash.html - under what if Bash won't start) and post it so that I can know what is making it not start for you and how to tell you to fix it.
