Did something change with the Colored Map for Elsweyr 1.1.esp?

I / we used to have to load it after the patch, but I noticed that my map suddenly had icons shifted again. Loading it before the patch fixes it, contrary to the way it was. Loading it before used to cause this problem.

This is still with using WB 287.

btw...I am still having the problem of ActorsHaveTorches.esp getting unchecked.

I found something odd. I tried to uninstall a mod from the installers tab. When I checked the mod list, the esp was still there. After looking at the data folder, I found a backup file made by TES4Edit in addition to the esp. Apparently, this backup file is confusing the installer. Once I removed the file, everything was fine.
It would be nice to have a release without any new features. Thanks for all the hard work!

I wonder if this was the issue with a mod I tried to uninstall yet the esp stayed. I wound up deleting it.

No, that's probably because you installed the mod, then cleaned the ESP. The ESP file no longer matches the contents of the archive and BAIN is rightly leaving it behind because of that.

But the installer still needs to flag a change in the package status (color:pink?). Otherwise, it will go on unnoticed and I will have no clue that the esp was not removed.

Now at Version 1.0 (Yeah, I know, "It hasn't even got any files ffs" its not like a major propellor head achievement, but users need a reference if I update content)

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35230

Update - Includes Advancement section of images for BAIN.

@ Wrye bash team - If you are happy, description linky on TesNexus Wrye bash page would be good :)

Edit: And of course any pick-ups by the eagle eyed Wrye bash ninjas among us gratefully appreciated. Trying to keep it condensed, and not over-bearing with enough information just to get the fledgelings off the ground and go "O_o... Now I get it!" :twirl:

If it's not marking things you've done that to, then yes, that would be a bug. It's always detected ESPs I've cleaned though, so it sounds like yet another of those things that isn't consistent.

Would you consider packing these up into a pdf? I think it would be easier for people to download a file, even if they don't want to print it...

Concerning the Mark Mergeables, I can't say if the auto is buggy or not although I never use Mark Mergeables, and when I have tested I saw now difference.
Regardless, I don't think there is any harm in instructing people to use it, but if it is/was buggy, I don't think it has been fixed so you should just stick to what you had originally.
Don't even bother confusing people with mention that bash is capable of doing it automatically.

Re: the BAIN section.. just being honest here trying to offer constructive criticism. I found it to be pretty confusing.
I think you have tried to address too much with this.
I would suggest a BAIN primer that only addresses how to manage pre-made bain-ready archives, then address how to make your own.
You have sort of mixed the two together.

About install and load ordering:
I think it is important to mention that re-ordering by drag-n-drop only works if the mod or installers list is sorted by Order.

This is a matter of preference really, but contrary to common practice, I beleive it makes the most sense if the installers and mods are sorted in descending order.
I think this is a better representation of how the mods affect eachother and corresponds to the concept of 'being higher in the install/load order'.

This means in the mods tab, the bashed patch is on top and the esm's are at the bottom.
Similarly for the installers. An added benefit is that all inactive installers are at the bottom of the list below the ==Last== marker.
Unfortunately, there is alot of documentation and discussion already that assumes the lists are sorted in ascending order, so use your own judgement I guess.

I would also recommend not to enable either of the sort options in the r-click menu. Using them will mean that the list is not sorted by install order.

I have a feature request that I think might help to alleviate alot of peoples troubles installing or uninstalling wrye bash.
I think it's time that Bash gets an installer/uninstaller.

Mainly, it's very difficult to backup wrye bash. This is especially important when migrating to a new version.
If the user ever wants or needs to roll back, it takes a fair bit of technical knowledge and research to accomplish it.

If the changes I'm working on get implemented, it will be much easier to back up wrye bash, but I still think it would be good for the point-n-click type people.

Yes thats a better idea, I was first waiting until I got past my baby steps creating the thing on nexus and when all suggestions for change fade away. Then just going to bundle them up in a zip for download so that people dont have to have browser open, just windows Picture and fax viewer which they can pop to front whilst using Wrye bash instead of having to have their browser open, allowing portability. I also considered a powerpoint, but pdf is a better way to go - Thank you.

Thanks for taking the time to do this - I think it will be of great help to many people.

May I suggest that you create three PDF or HTML files - 1. Creating bashed patches, 2. Starters guide to simple BAIN packages and 3. Advanced BAIN for complex packages. I think this will be easier for users to take small steps and easier for you to maintain and refine.

Hope this helps

PS Might be an idea to start a topic in this forum :)

From a user on Nexus with v290 installed, not sure if this is Wrye bash or the mod (not seen it myself), but its throwing up an stdout

Doing mod testing and needed to make several save game profiles to sort the madness - gawd - 4 hours, but done with that set of bugs.

Anyway - I noticed that after creating a new profile and the highlighting saves to move to the new profile that the move function is just like the copy function in that it does not actually move the files just copies them.

If I'm not mistaken then the function of move should mean that the files are moved to the new location and no longer in the profile your moving from.

Psymon, A new profile utility was released on nexus called http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=33581. Sounds like it does some of the this you are trying to do:
obl_loader allows you to use comfortably all your Oblivion-installations.

sounds like latest versions are a bit messed up - so when I get my new pc and manage to replace my lost files from my failed hard drive - there will be lots of testing to do :D

Likely it didn't get fixed because it got buried in the thread and overlooked or forgotten.

It's a good idea to use the https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=284958&atid=1207901 on the Bash Sourceforge site.
I'm pretty sure you do not need to sign up, you can submit a bug (or a feature request) anonymously if you want.

Yes, it basically does the same thing as INIzer.

ps.
I investigated that Move/Copy bug and it is definitely a bug.

I also discovered another minor bug at the same time.
When you go to move or copy a save, in the menu popup to select the profile to copy to, the Default profile is supposed to be disabled if it's the active profile.
When a different profile is active, the behavior is correct. The active profile will not be selectable.

Every now and then I get this error when closing WB 290:

saved = bolt.PickleDict.save(self)
File "D:\Oblivion\Mopy\bolt.py", line 838, in save
cPickle.dump(data,out,-1)
MemoryError

Task Manager typically shows 1,750,000+ mem usage for pythonw.exe when this happens.

I must use task manager to end the WB, and then the next time I open WB, what ever I did has to be re-done.

Is there some method of closing WB when there is excessive memory? Or a way to purge?
I think there needs to be some sort of memory management message that warns you when you are getting close to the threshold, whatever that might be.
