Attention SVN users:
It's looking like the CBash Bashed Patch creation is nearing release worthy. We need you to build your Bashed Patch with CBash enabled, and report any errors you find. Screenshots in TES4Edit are the best, especially if you supply "good" and "bad" comparison screen shots.

Its getting dangerous round here, flamethrowers, headshots, bangs and booms :bolt:

For TES4Edit noobs (like moi) - Can someone explain what to do, presume we need to point TES4Edit at the bashed patch ... Then ?

You'd probably want to load your entire active mod set rather than just trying to get the bashed patch. Then just expand each branch of the patch to make sure the records are getting the information you're expecting them to.

OK, I was replying to a Bash-related point in the OBSE thread, and I realised I was getting confused. So I have a couple of questions about CBash, which basically boil down to 'am I understanding correctly?'.

1. If a mod defines a new object (e.g. a new weapon or NPC), is there any circumstance in which that mod will be mergeable?

2. If all a mod does is place objects defined elsewhere (e.g. in Oblivion.esm) in the game world, will it be mergeable?

I decided to move my Oblivion Mods folder to My Games\Oblivion as I think it looks messy where it is by default in my new Steam install of Oblivion. Reading through the ini, I've also enabled Unicode support to see how that plays (I have the requirements). Reading through the rest of the ini, I found "bEnableWizard=False" - surely this should be true by default?
Actually, that option has no effect in 291, and is removed from the ini in the SVN.

bEnableBalo=True

Still no Group--> etc...

Also, tried to import an PMarchive. Nothing
Is this working correctly?
Sorry, I messed up the INI option. It's fixed now. What part of the PMArchive import isn't working?

UOP script should have been copied. TIE is tagged scripts, but has no change to make, so should have been ignored.
I'll have to take a look, see if that's the way that tag is supposed to work or not.

You'd probably want to load your entire active mod set rather than just trying to get the bashed patch. Then just expand each branch of the patch to make sure the records are getting the information you're expecting them to.

Hmm - hopefully I'll find some time for this myself (in 2-3 days). Having a huge and (almost) working LO I think I should :
1. Export my Bash conf
@. backup my bashed patch, 0 (rClick backup)
3. Close WB, enable CBash
$. Test

Am I forgetting anything ?

@utumno: That sounds about right.

New bug. I hit the cancel button after CBash had begun processing. When I went to build the patch again, it raced through everything inside of 3 seconds and then claimed to be completed with 12 records.

Really did you install Oblivion to your desktop that is one of the worst places to install it to outside of the programs files directory under Windows 7..

Best to reinstall everything to something like c:\games\ or another drive..



I do it is where he installed Oblivion to that is most likely causing the problem..

I am using the SVN Release and have python 2.6 installed and have not noticed anything other than perhaps bain and bash patch building a little slower.. Should I upgrade to 2.7 python..?

You were right. I reinstalled to program files (x86) and it works perfectly, well, as long as I don't rename Rename_CBash.dll. So, its all good.

Installing to the ProgramFiles folder isn't going to be any better for you in the end. The UAC for Windows 7 will complain bitterly about this.

I've bypassed UAC by taking complete ownership of the file. Since I am the only one on this computer, it works perfectly. (please don't lecture me about the problems this can cause)

I still have UAC enabled, I bypassed it with a script to give myself ownership of all files.

I'm going to be checking out the SVN so I can give more relevant feedback. Before I do though, a bug report, a suggestion and a question:

1. Bug report. Activating "The Versatile Adventurer.esp" with Unicode support enabled gives the following error:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\oblivion\Mopy\basher.py:1677: UnicodeWarning: Unicode unequal comparison failed to convert both arguments to Unicode - interpreting them as being unequal
(self.authorStr != self.author.GetValue()) or


The author's name is "tejón", the accent is what is causing problems.

2. Suggestion: Wrye Bash detects if the user has Oblivion installed on Steam (a parent directory check should be suffice) and if so it always launches Oblivion using Oblivion.exe, irrespective of whether the OBSE checkbox in the status bar is checked or not. This means that Steam users can keep that box checked all the time and launch Oblivion from WB, rather than having to check it only when opening the CS. This is because on Steam, obse_loader.exe is only run if opening the CS, and otherwise Oblivion.exe is run.

3. What are the shortcomings of Standalone WB compared to the normal version, using the SVN as a basis for comparison and ignoring the lag between updates to normal and updates to standalone? I'm thinking of going Standalone and want to know if I'd miss out on anything.

A - the nested leveled lists where empty, so got removed.
B - another mod with 'Delev' removed all of the items.

echoing what I posted from alpha forum on these

Did you update cbash ? if so then I need to update my version

MMPRoamingTraderHeavyDaedric is from my Travellers mod. That list becomes empty if you use the TamrielTravellersItemnpc.esp which empty the list so that would be normal.

The CoblViLootBossBonusItem100 and SurvivalItems25 are for Item Interchange pretty sure those are okay if you are not using item interchange .

I am not getting any missing flags with tes4edit on any of adventurer leveledlist.

but I do see some coming from one of them too many overhaul's loaded at once, I will track it down, because it is not a bash error anyways..

update svn rebuilding patch with cbash activated..

I found a problem with CBash svn. ver. 1024
Better Cities + Unique Landscapes (ex. Imperial Isle) + compatibility patches (merged into bashed patch and not activated)
in TES4Edit it looks ok
but in game the patch is not applied
if the patch is activated, then the patch is applied

You must have unpacked the bsa, that is only way to get it mergeable.

else any mods with bsa cannot get merged with cbash..

removed the bsa, rebuild patch with artifacts merged, let me look at it tes4edit..

Looks fine to me in tes4edit the worldspace changes in cbash patch match that from artifacts.esp..

Let me launch the game and see for sure..

I am getting something weird has well with cbash activated

You are only seeing the door right nothing else , once you enter then you have wtf all over the place ?

I do not have UL but have Better Cities and some of its resource's are not loading either wtf..

normal bash no problems has worldspace and cell edit do not get merged.

I am getting something weird has well with cbash activated

You are only seeing the door right nothing else , once you enter then you have wtf all over the place ?

I do not have UL but have Better Cities and some of its resource's are not loading either wtf..

normal bash no problems has worldspace and cell edit do not get merged.


You guys are absolutely positive you're using the updated code? Your issues sound like what was happening in my case before Lojack fixed the missing masters issue in the patch.
