Wrye Mash Python Help

Post » Mon Mar 14, 2011 9:36 pm

Running Windows 7 and have downloaded python-2.7.amd64 and wxPython2.9-win64-2.9.1.1-py27, along with Wrye Mash 84-27588. Have changed the target link for shortcut 2.5 to reflect Python27 folder; did not help. Here is error dump:

c:\Program Files (x86)\Bethesda Softworks\Morrowind\Mopy>c:\python27\python.exe
mash.py 0

Have several conflicts with mods - always associated with an argonian in the zone since adding gargoyles (a missing hair mesh typically) - doesn't always crash (just get error messages) but crashes enough to drive me nuts. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

You might want to try Wrye's complete package for Python support here: http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=OblivionUtilities.Detail&id=44.

It was done for Wrye Bash, but it works for Mash too, last I checked. Or you could search around for the Python "comtypes" module, which is what is complaining is missing. Or maybe best, look for Melchor's "WMSA" (Wrye Mash Stand Alone), which does not require a separate Python, it's all bundled inside.

Welcome Abraxas44 to this forum. :foodndrink:

You should read the http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1068986-wrye-mash-thread-5/ of how to fix that shortcut, but I think that you have the wrong version of python. :)
But remember to use the Wrye Mash thread if you have any question related of python when you're using Wrye Mash.

Instead I'd recommend that you should use http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1106095-wrye-mash-stand-alone/, which don't require python installed on your computer. :D

Yes, this is probably a Python version issue. That 2.5 in the name of Wrye Mash means it wants Python version 2.5.

Thanks everyone; downloaded the stand-alone version and WM is working perfectly (I assume). Ran it on a saved game and 604 'errors' were fixed. Interestingly, none of them were the ones dealing with the Argonian-crash issue or all the MCA errors. Would I post those issues in the 'Mods' forum?

Yes, you should post them in the MW Mods forum.
