Wrye Mash Troubles

Post » Fri May 07, 2010 10:39 pm

So I'm extremely new to the PC Morrowind scene (lured by mods shown to me by a friend), and he gave me a list of mods that he never plays without and of course I pounced upon them like a ravenous cave rat. He'd also made it a point to tell me to get Wrye Mash for it's handy utilities, and thus I have done so.

On to the problem that I am faced with currently...it's simply not running. I've grabbed Python 2.5 as per suggestion by said friend as well. Due to my inexperience in the TE3 modding scene, I'd thought it best to do a bug dump, with a screenshot supplied at the following link. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am anxious to delve into this amazing game and it's many wonderful additions brought to us by the creative and talented modding community. Thanks in advance.

For what I can understand from the error message, the program can't find wxPython library, try (re)installing it.
Get and Install
? Wrye Mash is written in python and uses the wxPython GUI library to provide the interface. So before you can run Wrye Mash, you'll need to download both of these.

? Download and Install Python 2.5

Download link: Python 2.5

? Download and Install wxPython 2.8.0.1 ANSI

Download link: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/wxpython/wxPython2.8-win32-ansi-2.8.0.1-py25.exe.

Cool, I'm having a go at it right now. Hopefully this works.

On a side note, absolutely STUNNING work on the Water Life. A pal showed it to me and I was won over. I had always thought the waters were a bit bland before. Water Life is the number 1 reason I decided to play the pc version of TE3 (as I spent hours upon countless hours exploring the barren wastes with nothing to show for it in my loot before hand, and a rather blank stare upon my face as after a while even the slaughterfish cease to annoy me). Thank you for the help with my Wrye Mash problem, and also for your great work. Cheers.

***UPDATE***

That did the trick. Thanks again, abot! You're a life saver (ok maybe not my life, but you saved me a LOT of hassle).
