Most probably it is going to stay as a thread, mystery05. You could always save it as an .htm file using your browser controls to do so or the same capability exists under "Options", top right of the page.

Reading as a novice I can say its a wonderful draft so far! Great job. I read the whole thing and if you are writing for the novice I would only suggest either giving more details and examples about something that may be a new word or concept to someone reading about managing mods for the first time. One example would be "leveled lists." I didn't know what one was exactly untill reading a posts made by another poster. Either explain in detail in the guide or create a dictionary to look up new concepts. Maybe a link to the new concept to the dictionary would be another idea. A lot of us here are visual or hands on learners too. So if you wanted to accomodate them maybe you could include some excercises, video, or snapshots.

The only other suggestion I would have for this wonderful draft would be to check your links. Some have been moved.

Great idea and planning, and good luck with the final draft.

Thank you for your kind comments.

We were not, writing for novices that is, excepting novices to Wrye Mash. From the first post:
We do not intend that it include extensive explanation about why doubling occurs, the game engine, the theory of levelled lists etc etc etc. Those issues are relevant of course and may well come up in the thread but can only serve to lengthen and confuse a step-by-step guide, so don't expect to see it all included.
Try here: http://www.mwmythicmods.com/starting.htm

See above link and this thread, http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=523132&hl=, previously referenced in Post#114, also incomplete. ;)

*cough* You are welcome to contribute: see also Post#127; in the common tongue 'I'm on extended sabbatical'. :)

I recommend http://www.google.ca/ to help overcome these slippages in time.

Thank you again. See above. This is almost assuredly it.

It's a little confusing, but you have to make sure to click the "Utilities" link instead of searching under Mods.

Not de-rail the topic with something non-Wrye related, but seriously this is the greatest thing ever. I cannot tell you how much easier this has made the whole process, to the extent that over the last couple of days and for the first time ever I have figured out how to get my modded game into perfect order (with a little help). I would also just say, the easier this gets the more players will be able to experience the artistic work that is produced here. Knowing I can use mods and not completely screw my game up makes me what to try everything. When someone asks about mods this thread is the first place you should send them. And if I can figure it out, anyone can. : )

So, please keep up the good work, and consider doing other tutorials to make the amazing things here more usable. Thanks!

I am having a heck of a time with this...

"click on an ugly pink save, and then right click on the bar under the column to the side of the Saves tab that says "Masters", right next to where it says "File" (in that details area). You will bring up another menu, just like you did with the mods tab."

I don't seem to be able to find these places in the program. For instance, I don't see the word Masters anywhere. I know I'm probably just missing it. Can someone explain to me how to locate this? Thanks.

For texture replacements
http://wrye.ufrealms.net/Wrye%20Mash.html#ManageTextureReplacers

make a replacement folder as directed.
Need the texture replacement to be used (non esp and esm of course.)
In your SkyDye folder for example. Make a texture folder and a meshes folder.
Place all the textures and meshes for that release in.

Now select your folder by right click on mods

http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/413/firstopenreplace.jpg click to enlarge

Then check one at a time the folders you'll be using.

http://img30.imageshack.us/img30/1794/thencheckfolderlastonel.jpg click to enlarge

These will not over write your Morrowind data folder as they are not installed there. But they will show up in your game if checked and will not show if disable from game when not checked.
If to textures in to different folders are the same the the last folder checked and install is default. If you put new textures in a folder. Uncheck the folder and then recheck it so Wrye Mash can install the new ones.

That is very very cool Skydye. I actually posted a question a while back about how modders keep from having to re-install Morrowind all the time when they put in a mod they don't like, and I think this is part of the answer. Plus, you can quickly switch between the different artists work and see which you like better. Thank you very much Skydye.

I think I may have asked this question in a cryptic way, so let me try again. I need some assistance with a passage in the guide, and some navigation help with the program itself.

In the instructions under Part 4. Cleaning Save Games there is the following entry -

"click on an ugly pink save, and then right click on the bar under the column to the side of the Saves tab that says "Masters", right next to where it says "File" (in that details area). You will bring up another menu, just like you did with the mods tab."

The problem I'm having (or that other novice users might have) is that I don't see the word "Masters" anywhere. Am I clicking to the right or the left of the Saves tab? There is a reference to Masters if I right click under the Morrowind Save Files section of the program - on the far right - in the section that lists the mods and has the "File" and "Num" bars over it. This bring up a dialog box that says "Update Masters" and it asks if I want to edit/update masters. Is this what the instructions are referring to?

Thanks for the help, this is pretty much the only thing I'm not sure about... so far : ).
