Wrye Mash Woes

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 3:30 am

So I need to check what mods are used by my old saves, problem is, wyre mash isn't cooperating. I've tried the trouble shooting on the site here: http://wryemusings.com/Wrye+Mash.html#IfMashWontStart, but no dice. I've tried installing python 2.4 and 2.5 versions, but both versions of Mash just flicker when I click on them. If there are other such progams, please let me know! Thanks! :brokencomputer:

You will need wxpython too.

There is a nice installation package called http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22368 which will ease the installation.

I'll try that.. after I re-install Morrowind. Too much extra crap in there right now, and now "d3dx9_30.dll" has apparently gone missing. I'll fix it this summer when I have time... Thanks though.

That sounds like an MGE issue, Mash doesn't use DirectX. Basically, you need to have downloaded and installed the latest DirectX re-distributable, check the first post in the http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1080781-morrowind-graphics-extender-mge/.

Hrm... It did arise after trying out MGE, but the problem persists after MGE is closed. Thanks, I'll try what you said. Still, Morrowind freaks out when I try to start a new or saved game and crashes, so it's not like I'll be able to play any time soon.

As per the readme, the MGE Dialog shouldn't be open when Morrowind is running. MGE automatically runs in the background.
