wryemusings offline

wryemusings.com seems to be offline?!?

Is it just me or can someone else confirm it and I guess my question is why???

I am sad about this. I know Wrye has been out of the whole scene for years now and I guess he must have taken it down but I really enjoyed it and often went by just to reminisce.

Any thoughts?

Judging by the 'suspendedpage' line in the URL, my guess is Wrye didn't pay the monthly dues. Or he maybe went over bandwidth limit. I dunno.

Was there something specific you wanted from the site, ktbu? It's been down since 2009. Here's a post of Wrye's that explains a bit about what happened:

If you're looking for one of Wrye's mods, most of them can be found there. The Bash tutorial can also be found there, if that's what you're looking for.

I just visited the webpage a month ago. Since 2009 I have visted the page and linked the page maybe 100 times. Not just myself but many friends were still reading his pages too. There are even Redit pages dedicated to his web pages and those links were working until just a little while ago.

No I don't need any of his mods. I have them all and they can all be easily found at the nexus, morrowind modding history and mods reloaded and over at flig's house.

CanadianIce and Howndog's forum is still active, so if they were continuing to host Wrye's old site since 2009 they might know more what happened.

You could try PMing Wrye here, but he likely won't notice he got a message.

Thanks Pluto, I haven't signed into CanadianIce and Howndog's forum in years. It is the best lead yet though. I'll go and check there, otherwise I'll have to dig into the wayback machine and copy some of his webpages for myself. I just really enjoy reading his take on the famous Cathedral and Bazaar papers on classifying software development but applied to modding during the height of the Oblivion craze as you can see by my signature :ribbon:
