WTF BETHESDA no offline co-op or split screen?

Post » Wed Aug 26, 2009 9:49 am

Hi, I am not mad or anything Brink is a great game and I will play it almost everyday. I just have one complaint: NO SLPIT SCREEN WHAT SO EVER!!!!
All im asking is split screen, if Halo Reach could do it one one disk so can Brink(im not comparing Brink to Halo if thats what you think)
All I want to know is why, all this awsomeness in multiplayer and you cant do the same for offline campain or challenges? Please leave a respons or PM me, I would like to have an answer.

They could patch it in like UTIII did. I request this, as should you. They should take their time and get it right too.

Thats a very good solution you got there and I agree. Some sort of patch or just a regular update whit split screen.

Agreed. I think it would be nice if they either patched it or put good time and energy in to making it part of a free dlc like the one they plan to release in june

Now this might be the solution of what we have waited for, all they have to do now is to include split- screen and offline CO-OP in the new DLCthat is coming out(or in any future DLC later).

Spli-screen in Brink would be EPIC!!!! :mohawk:
I have to admit, when I figured out Brink didn't have split-screen, I was a little disappointed, but that didn't stop me from buying the game xD
Back on topic though, it would be an awesome gift from Bethesda to give us split-screen in Brink

I'm so glad other people still care about split screen! Since not all of my friends have their own xboxs the only way for us to all play a game together is if it has split screen. So many games are coming out without spit screen and it is really frustrating. They should absolutely include split screen in one of their DLC packs. This game neeeeeeeds it!

You are absolutely right! the game does realy need a split- screen feature in a DLC.

I was very slighted when I brought Brink to my friend's house to show-off and not only could I not get any character information from XBOX Live (I was hoping my character would be able to be saved to the cloud somehow), and that I could not play with him on the same console.

I think it is because the companies wanted the players to back out of a game whenever they leveled up to change their outfits and weapons. I don't think it would work as well on the main screen if two people were logged in at once.
However, Borderlands has a similar feel to it and they established it very well.

As fast as the combat is in this game I shudder at the thought of having my peripheral vision compressed by a split screen. I can't imagine it would play well at all. Now Halo, where you can camp, and grenade spam, and short scope sniper rifles, I'm sure it works just fine. Borderlands, which I own, doesn't even compare. Even on the hardest difficulty the AI is not nearly as fast paced or aggressive which is why you can afford to lose one third of your field of vision and still manage to play. Brink? No thank you. I'd rather keep my full screen. Let my buddies go buy a copy.

It is a shame, I know, but split-screen is becoming an outdated concept. I don't agree with it, but developers are seeing it that way.

We definitely need some split screen action!

Gamers have RL friends too. And they want to play, not watch.

Halo Reach was awesome, just because you could have four (4!) people playing online on the same system. Such sweet delicious icing on halo cake (best kind of cake).

I'd argue that Black Ops, albeit for different reasons, is just as fast-paced, and the split-screen in that works fine. It's also the only reason I play it. I have a friend that comes round to my place every Sunday to have a beer and play some vidya; I was hoping Brink was going to be a new one for us, but sadly it isn't so.

No, Halo is too slow. QUAKE 3 is too fast, but only with good players fighting you.

Split-Screen would be a great addition, even if they could only enable it for offline mode.
I wonder... would Player 2 be able to create a guest character to use or be able to raise XP on created characters as well???

Welcome to one of the great ironies of the 3rd wave of console systems. One of the only true advantages consoles have over PCs are their ability to have a multiplayer gaming experience in the same room with your pals. This has always been the great strength of consoles going all the way back to the Atari. The irony is though, that console games are increasingly being shipped with out the features that make this shared play possible (slit screen).
