WTF Moments in Oblivion

Post » Wed Aug 25, 2010 4:11 pm

I had one strange moment when I took a nap at a mage's guild. Woke up in the middle of the night to find a woman in bed next to me, and a man standing over me. As I stepped away from the bad, he promptly climed into bed with her.
I guess he was just waiting for me to get up so he could climb in.

The first time I ever ran into a troll, it promptly killed me quickly. As I reloaded my last save point... right before the encounter... it saw me right away and took chase.
So i ran... I mean really ran... halfway across the game world, not able to outrun this thing. Suddenly, an imperial guard comes to my rescue, and then arrests me after saving me. So, I simply pay my fines and move on, but when it puts me outside the prison, I'm way back on the other side of the world near where I found the troll.
I guess the guard was in on the chase the whole time.

One time, while not doing a quest, I had Martin with me as I was exploring along some roads. I'm on horseback as some bandits attack. During the chaos of trying to dismount and join the fight, I miss the battle alltogether... and I can't find Martin or the attackers.
After searching the area for a good ten minutes, I find Martin, halfway down a hill, behind a rock, with bodies at his feet. It was like he was waiting for me to see his claim to victory.

These are awesome. :foodndrink:

So my biggest WTF moment was a couple days after starting a new character. Of course what I do with EVERY new character is after exiting the sewers swim across and kill the bandits, take the Imortal Blood book (its one of my favorites) and then head off to the market to pawn my sewer crap I dont need, I feel the beginning of a new character is incomplete without such process. Anyway I came back a few days later to go explore vilverine but I decided to see if the bandits at the camp respawned. They were standing but not alive... to be specific they were slightly levitating above ground legs perfectly together and there arms were each spread wide. No joke they both looked like they had been crucified. I should have taken a picture because it freaked me the hell out. After about 5 minutes of staring in amazement I decide to see waht would happen if I did a little pokey pokey with my sword and as I did there bodies fell to the ground like the cross that was once invisible is now gone. WTF

That happened me too, but not with bandits, rather rats, goblins, guards, Random people, horses, sheep, and so on. But no bandits.

So Dyan the Paladin stays at the Oak & Crossier last nite. She takes off her Elven armor and Helm of Arkay, throws it around the room, and goes to bed. Next day, she can't find the Elven Curias!

I'm really freaking out because she's at Level 6, and NOBODY else in the game currently has Elven armor, it is unique to Dyan, which gives her this sort of superior feeling. She got it from some quest I think. I know she was kinda sloppy about where she threw her stuff, but I also know she was wearing the entire armor set when she went to bed!

At this point, I'm contemplating 2 things: (1) just roleplyaing it as if some NPC stole the curias, or (2) grabbing an earlier gamesave, which would have been out in some dungeon somewhere. I really don't wanna do this because then I'll lose some important updates with questing, but I REALLY WANT THAT CURIAS. So I'm torn. :(

On a hunch, I have Dyan walk downstairs, because I think there's this bug where stuff falls thru the floor sometimes. So she walks downstairs, approximately underneath where her room is. No curias. She walks all the way over to the other side of the lower level (where the south wall is) and lo! There's the curias! WTF?

How did it fall thru the floor, then get all the way to the ohter side of the hotel???

I just remembered my first moment. And yeah, I'll admit it, that mud crab outside the sewer exit killed my first character.

Walk out of Chorrol. A random monk attacks a random guard on a horse. Guard dies. Another guard runs up and starts attacking me. Monk kills him, too. I'm WTFing as the monk walks off, but I get a free horse so it's okay. Murhurhurhurhur.

I discover "scuma," create an extra save file for scumascapades, ingest fifteen of them by some strange glitch, and start bouncing around some intense bridge. A horse-riding guard comes up and starts attacking me, so I dive into the water to escape him and continue scumaing, since I'm an Argonian. Next thing I know, there's the freaking horse and guard at the bottom of the lake. I didn't realize horses could breathe underwater. Or swim that well.

I came across a black horse courier woman, on a horse, and when I talked to her, her head started spinning in around while she said "sorry, no time to talk, I have to deliver these papers, ect."

I struck a guy in bruma jail yesterday to roleplay a scene which caused him to be in two places at once place..
It was like the matrix, moving so fast he split into two mirror images.

Lol, probably. But as a note to self, NEVER just throw too much stuff around a room unless the floor below it is a seperate, non-continuous level, if that makes any sense.

I have OOO installed so I have no idea what lies in store when I go into every dungeon so I'm just traveling from Bravil to IC and decide to check out some cave. And its full of.....boars. I was just like wtf and it reminded me of the WOW episode of South Park and it made me laugh. Also is insane to watch the battles in Rockmilk Cave when you throw like 6 golems into the mix.

Guard: Have you Heard any News for the other provinces?
Person: NO!
Guard: Good to know.

Sintav 1: They say that when you murder someone the Dark Brotherhood comes to you in your sleep. Its how they recruit new members.
Sintav 2: NO!
Sintav 1: NO!

Having Baurus attack martin all the way back to cloud ruler temple screaming for the Emperor.. while martin strolls along.

Apparently you loose your bounty after the MQ, but not before no matter what other good deeds you do before hand, which is a pretty wtf moment.

Before http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/g376/Indep/Oblivion2010-10-1214-22-18-29.jpg

After http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/g376/Indep/Oblivion2010-10-1214-21-20-32.jpg

Saves alot of cash though not having to pay fines.

As a half fiend Tiefling summoned from the nine knows where I'm roleplaying it that way, along the lines of after constant betrayel from the people she was helping*..
The Chancellor has stricken all records of her existence and made sure all is forgotten but not forgiven, unless she reveals her self openly.
Although considering she only helped out thinking a portal back to her own plane was to be opened for her as a reward, its more of a kick in teeth.

*Only a few npc's during the MQ did not attack her even during battles she was targeted first most times, leaving all sides dead!

So I was in Chorrols mage's guild and Carmen litte goes to talk to her husband Alberic Litte, whom is in the mages guild in case anyone didn't know. Anyway, she comes up to him and says hi, this is the following conversation. Keep in mind Alberic is a mages guild member.

Alberic "ever thought about joining the mages guild?"

Carmen "no i ve never thought about it, there not really the type of people I want to be around"

Alberic " I hear you ... "

So why did she marry him if she doesn't like mages and why does he agree with her if he's in the guild?!

^ LOL. Often Oblivion conversations sound like they're being said by people who are just learning English. They just say these totally random things that make no sense, mostly because they're trying to learn the language.

You're obviously not married.

He clearly f*cked up, she is scolding him by demeaning his profession and saying that 'they' (meaning him) are not people she wants to be around, and he agrees to everything she says cause he wants to get laid sometime in the future. Type in 'marriage' on Howstuffworks.com and this is what you'll find.

I just had an instance recently near Bruma, where two Imperial Guards decided to start pounding on each other until one of them was dead.

Near the arena there are two guys 'training' h2h (where if u wacth enough, u get the +5 free-boost ) but some may acutally think "WTF", since one of them can actually die in this process, not knowing what just happened.
