WTF Moments in Oblivion

Post » Thu Aug 26, 2010 9:57 am

Actually this happened a few hours ago. I was using my new character to explore the wilderness and just northwest of Bruma I ran into 2 Imperial Rangers shooting each other with their bow and arrows. I was like WTF? Guess they were having a duel?

This seems to be the most popular WTF moment.

Since I am confined to the pre-sewers upper halls, I experimented some sneaking on Baurus... So, I obviously land some arrows on loyal Baurus, and now he looks like some awkward tree on heavy armour - and yet tells me "u r lucky I like u".

???

Now, I decided to stay right in front of him, sneaking and aiming up towards his head. Right between his eyes. It is nothing short of a sure-shot.

And there goes the arrow right *thru* his head, bounces off a wall.... yeah, WTF, so I try couple more times, from different positions, right in front of him too. They bounce off the wall... and one... hits ME! :bonk:

Wonder if there is something like 'suicide by arrow'?

Luci Pheria my witch character threw a weak fireball at one of those guys during the Tutorial. I think she actually threw it at the Emperor! And I do remember Baurus saying the same thing: "you're lucky I like you"....

When i went to the khajitt village and dogs fell from the sky!

When that corrupt guard i put in jail was running towards me while i was on the road and started attacking me, i was like WTF didnt i just put you in jail and finish the quest? so i just paralyzed him and ran away with invisibility, only to have him find me again while inside a ruin! i killed him in there and read his "revenge letter" lol

I was wandering the southlands of the provence with poor graphics and lagginess. A bit out of the city I see Deadroth.... a s big as a tree! I tried to run, but the lag-monster got me followed shortly by a breif battle and my prompt death. Turns out the mod I was using aparently had 3 super monsters....one of which I hit at a very low level. Ah, hurray for the leveling overhaul and giving me that oh crap I'm dead moment :)

Snip

Carefull with that trick, I once leveled up to 75 marksmann and destruction on the emperor, everything was fine, left the IC sewers all bounty removed with a wacking great infamy rating left..
Many quests ended automatically as npc's involved would spawn and attack instantly, so not a good idea anymore imo.

oh no - i am not actually playing... i mean my chap is not intentionally raising skills on the 'pre-sewers team'... i was just doing a 'what if' thing.... and ended up almost committing suicide by arrow, which i never thought possible (the assassins did not shoot that arrow at me, and baurus surely didn't).

Hahaha sorry I misunderstood, I've never had that happen to me.
Honestly I never knew it was possible to get damaged by your own arrow, I've caught a few in flight though once even from an npc's bow :ninja: .

Usually when I pass bandits, I just run by and forget about them. Well this time they followed me to Cheydinhal and what ensues was a clusterfight between a Legion Soldier, myself, Shadowmere and the bandits. While trying to hit one of the bandits with a shock spell, I accidentally hit one of the Black Horses in the stable. I keep calming it whenever it tries to attack me. After all the bandits are dead, I watch as Shadowmere defends me from the Black Horse. Fun to watch a horse on horse battle.

I was doing a mission with Modryn Oreyn, inside some ruin. We fought our way through rats and goblins, until we came across a mubcrab. Modryn drew his sword and charged the thing, while shouting "I've fought mubcrabs more fearsome than you!" I just though "It is a mubcrab you reatard!"

Summoning an entire army of Golems and Animals after doing some long sweet quests in OOO is insane. About 6 golems and 10 animals. Also kinda weird to talk to the beggar in the waterfront while he is swimming.

I'm afraid Modryn Oreyn on on a different internet forum right now calling you names. Shift the emphasis away from "mudcrab" and onto "fearsome" and the sentence makes perfect sense. For instance, imagine a space alien who has fought humans many times in the past. While fighting you he shouts, "I've fought humans more fearsome than you!" I think I would probably refrain from calling that alien a "reatard." ;)

I have a fleeting memory of one time I was inside an Oblivion Gate on a previous character...

He had just made it to the top of the tower via teleport pad and was getting ready to enter the Sigillum Sanguis when a Dremora noticed him. The Dremora, along with his two companions, came rushing after him immediately. Naturally, his first thought was "oh, great..." and then he ran back to the teleport pad and went down to the next floor. He then started waiting.... and waiting... and...

wait...

what just fell past me?

*end combat music*

Turns out the dremora decided that instead of using the teleport pad, they would just leap off the top floor and hope they could land on mine. Needless to say it didn't end well... at least for them. :hubbahubba: :whistling:

Well installing MMM has mad a fair share of WTF moments.
I see a Tar fiend, it comes right at me, so as I block, it whizzes past me, killing a few rats, before focusing on me.
I saw a guard stop attacking a powerful foe, and attack a passing rat. He died.

But yeah, MMM is quite awesome.

Absolutely brilliant today I was up in the Jerall mountains exploring when I found an abandoned house that had been added by a mod, since night was falling I thought I might as well hole up here for the night. I go inside sleep for twelve hours, when I come back outside I see a frost titan slumped over the house with about 100 arrows sticking out of him. Scattered around the house I found twelve dead bandits, 2 dead hill giants, 2 dead hedge wizards and three dead legion foresters. The only survivor: a badly bloodied legion forester dog

Heh, I had a fun one happen yesterday. Mild spoilers for those who haven't finished the main quest.

Spoiler

I was in the Forbidden Grotto, near the controls that allow you to lift one caged prisoner out of the lava and put another one in. Imagine my surprise when I worked the control to pull the female prisoner OUT of the lava, only to have her scream "No...Please...No!" on the way up.
Who knew that the Mythic Dawn also had masochists in it?

Had one last night.

Camarilla was hanging out on the beach at Lake Rumare contemplating a quick swim before dinner, and thought it safe enough to go in as two mounted guards were out swimming on their horses as well. WTF moment no. 1.

She then went in and swam to the other shore where all of the sudden she yelps and her health drops. She quickly dived and swam back to the other shore and got out of the water, only to discover she has a goblin arrow sticking out of her left buttock. WTF moment no. 2.

I would post a screenie, but since she was skinny dipping it wouldn't be PG. What times are these when a girl can't go for a skinny dip without getting shafted in the rear?!
