WTF, Steam ?

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 10:00 am

I was comparing the price between the retail version and Steam version of Fallout 3: GOTY edition. Then I stumble upon this funny (or horrible ? ) bug: my brother and I see different price for the same item on steam. See for your self.

P.S how do I post image in this forum ?

Images are disabled here - the link is OK though.

Perhaps contact Steam to ask them?

Sometimes owning a particular game will give you a discount with another, but your best bet is to contact Steam directly.

I'm not really used to Steam. The only way to contact Steam people that I know about is posting on their forum, which require a moderator to activate my account. In the mean time I am hoping to find some clue here. Perhaps someone with Steam can kindly tell me the price on their client.

It's listed at $29.99 for me, but then I already own it through Steam which may skew things.

My brother also sees it as $29.99. He already owns a game on steam, I don't. Could there be a discount for old member ?

P.S I found out how to use steam support.

Yep, I'm seeing it for $30 too. You brother should be able to buy it at his price and gift it to your account, if he's a good brother that is.

Do you feel like you're being ganged up on by moderators? :P

Yeah, I probably ask him to do so. He's willing to. Now that's many have said they see the price $29.99, I start to wonder if I am the only one who see the price $49.99 :cryvaultboy:

You are in Australia - different price to the USA so you need someone from your country to be able to compare prices with. How are you getting USD price on Steam?

I'm not sure. It's just there when I install it. How do I change it into Australian dollar?
