WTF: Water Treatment v Water Purifier Plants

Post » Sat Feb 13, 2016 2:47 pm

What?

Did I just shell out 30,000 caps maxing a 3x1 Water Purification Plant, only to find out the only difference between that and a maxed Water Treatment Plant is +10 Production?

Is this a bug?

Same thing with Hydro Garden. I was expecting a storage bonus like Nuclear Reactor. NOPE!

What a waste of caps!!

Can you do me a favor, can you link a screen shot of this http://i.imgur.com/p9Yp7CN.jpg? When you go to upgrade the room it tells you what the current production and storage is. I don't have a Water Purification Plant yet and I am curious what it's storage it.

Yeah, the only difference I see is a slight bump in production, certainly not worth the 30K to upgrade, i've gone to building just regular diners/water plants due to the cost differential. Perhaps WAY end game to max space it might be worth thousands of caps to get that extra small production.

The reason I ask is because I am working on a https://github.com/Sharlikran/fsdoc/blob/master/Rooms/WaterPurification.md. The Nuclear Power plant gives more storage so your base can sustain itself longer on your reserve power. I assume that the Water Purification Plant is similar. So that's why I was hopping I could get a screen shot of it to add to my Wiki.

It isn't. Water purifier gets you 50 production and 300 storage. It really isn't worth it. Especially once you get the Nuka Cola bottler room.

Yeah that's kinda dumb then I guess. I figured since the Nuclear Plant did that then there should be an equivalent for Food and Water. I guess not.

Yeah and Crim makes a great point, once you get a Nuka plant, it pretty much removes any reason to spend extra caps the Garden/Hyro plant.

I take it that this was the intention but nobody at the development department noticed. Considering other bugs so far, I reckon that it wasn't properly beta-tested.
