WTF? Why is everybody saying this game is a PvP game?

Post » Thu Mar 06, 2014 11:35 am

Everywhere I look I see people saying this it's really pissing me off because I know its not true already, jesus people! Everybody knows that a PvP would never work, everybody knows that making a PvP end-game more important than a PvE end-game is pretty much like making no end-game at all for most MMO players.Stop it already! Every damn forum or articles I try to read I have somebody saying "ESO awesome the end game is going to PvP and that's a good thing:D!" Seriously is there any truth to this? No! This game IS NOT ABOUT PVP, THE ENDGAME IS PVE, STOP IT. THIS IS A PVE GAME FIRST. THE COMPANY WHO MAKE ELDER SCROLLS GAMES ARE NOT STUPID THEY KNOW WHO THEIR AUDIENCE IS.Sorrry for the caps lock its just I see this EVERYWHERE and whenever people here "PvP game" or "forced to PvP" people just seem to run away in droves from this game, this image of a PvP game is hitting it hard and I can't stand it.

PVE doesnt exist for me in TESO. Only a little tutorial from level 1 to level 10. Then only Cyrodiil.

Can i skip 1-10 tutorial and begin directly from Cyrodiil?

Well you enjoy PvP sure but people need to stop calling this a PvP game because I see so many people getting turned off from the game whenever it's said, it's depressing how many friends and clan mates I know that won't even give this game the time of day because they're afraid it'll put too much of an emphasis on PvP.PvP is great, but the game can't run on PvP'ers alone, this isn't some dinky indie kickstarter game this is an AAA MMO.

Its because we haven't seen the end game content yet other than PvP. People like to make assumptions with little facts they have. I can't assess the PvE quality of ESO, but I was sold on the three instanced dungeon I'm presented with.

Sorry, you're wrong. The end game is PvE and AvA. The game does have significantly more AvA focus than other recent MMOs, thus the articles to which you refer.

A few on this forum are just trying to sink the game by spreading rumors, for reasons i dont fully understand.

Anyway i know that there's a big portion of PVE. If you like PVE, you can find all the PVE you're searching.

TESO is a big game, full of PVP for pvpers and full of PVE for pvers.

plus, the elder scrolls that you can capture in AvA will give you a PvE bonus as well.. so its good to mix it up.

Its both. Trying to figure out which it is more of is futile.

PvP is a much larger part of this game than many MMOs.

They still have robust PvE content at endgame like Veteran Rank Content, Veteran Dungeons, and (soon) Adventure Zones.

Whether its a PvP or PvE game depends on what you personally play more of.

No, sorry, you're wrong, and you're only contributing to scaring away players with lies.

Everybody knows that a real end-game only works with PvE, sure you can have your PvP but no company would be stupid enough to be like "Duuuuur let's make the point of the end of the game PvP duuuuuuurrrrrr", that's financial suicide right there.

The only thing end-gamey about the PvP is that one emperor skill line and I'm willing to bet a lot of money that there is a skill line JUST LIKE THAT for some PvE activity, it's just because the info isn't out yet.

I'm tired of my friends leaving because of false information.

It only appears that pvp is more fleshed out right now because the 'end game' PvP can be reached at level 10, thus it has the vast majority of coverage.

Also I don't expect Cyrodil to have many changes for a long while besides class updates, whereas possibility for pve is limitless.

You have your game already ; WoW and LotRO are PvE centric games. Enjoy.

This game is not solely focused on PvE. Sorry. You can dislike it, but this game is modeled very similarly to DAoC, with a strong AvA component and end game focus on both AvA and PvE.

You cannot make this untrue because you wish that wasn't the case.

this game DOES have more of an emphasis on pvp than alot of other MMO games..

and the elder scrolls are part of end game.. capture them in pvp to add bonus' alliance wide.. pve as well..

sounds like you arent too sure of what you speak about.. you didnt play DAOC huh?

ESO has a huge emphasis on end game "pvp"

>a total of 6 dungeons for veteran ranks at launch

>3 warring alliances

>an entire pvp zone dedicated to siege warfare

>complex pvp mechanics

>pvp rewards and achievements

>leveling through pvp

>not a pvp game -OP

I think the endgame pve will be repeatable but I don't think it is set up that you will be grinding it for weeks, months and years on end. The primary endgame is pvp.

edit - I mean what would be the purpose? There is no gear for you to grind and from what I have heard and seen from betatesters some are already halfway thru the veteran ranks. I guess you could do it just for fun.

Read what you quoted. Adventure zones would be the end game PvE to which I refer. AvA is also an end game focus, and is a very major component.

lol the endgame is pvp, thats why its been the focus of the beta.

dont worry tho, they added a few dungeons for you to do as well it you need to pve some mobs because rvr is too hard for you.

and yes, im the bad guy for calling it like it is. ge over it.

It's drawn a huge bro crowd, what do you expect them to focus on? It's far easier to provide for a PvP end game and make it more robust than continuously spinning out new PvE encounters. You're right, it's a PvE game first in that the content you encounter first is PvE. But you have to wonder why they're even bothering with that at this point. I'm thinking the PvE content will serve up a way to gear up for PvP since there are no PvP only stats.

Sorry mate, it's a PvP game first. Look at the bright side.

I wouldn't say that PvP has been the focus of beta. If they really wanted to beta test PvP, than they would start everyone with level 50 templates which they've only done once.

PvP is not really the end-game in ESO. There are 450 hours of PvE and there are many VR level dungeons and upcoming Adventure Zones, which is going to be big.

Wow just wow. So many people really are intent on spreading BS just so they can keep up their niche game delusions.I guess you'll be just so happy when the game dies as a result of your lies too, right? When you scare away everybdy besides yourself and other fanatics like yourself?

In the adventure zones as well i have heard they have 12man "raid" dungeon so to speak from one of the better informed podcasts (dont recall which one exactly).

I dont know if this is actually released dev posting stuff or rumor or what. I looked up on google and have seen similar postings to mine here on several sites mentioning 12man groupings.

Im not trolling, just what ive heard and dont know the truth yet.
