Wuts up with lightbulbs?

Post » Fri Dec 11, 2015 9:22 pm

Does anyone else have the annoying problem with the standard ceiling hung lightbulbs and ceiling hung "high tech" lights not illuminating correctly??? Doesn't happen every time I build them, but most of the time it does...And some settlements they always work great and give off a great yellow glow?

ISSUE:

1. After placing a lightbulb, it essentially doesn't illuminate the surrounding area. The bulb itself looks white and "Bright" but pretty much no illumination from it. very frustrating

2. If the bulbs do work and I leave a settlement, upon return the next time, they will be dead agin.

3. Only happens with standard hung bulb and ceiling hung "High tech" lights (Sometimes spotlights too)

THINGS I'VE TRIED:

1. Made sure proper power is routed around house and enough power is available.

2. Placed bulbs inside and outside to no avail

3. Stored bulbs in workshop and re-placed them. No luck

4. Scrapped bulb and installed new ones.....nothing

5. Have placed in small rooms, medium rooms, big rooms, rooms full of stuff, empty rooms etc etc

Noticed this, too.
Annoying.
I unattached and reattached the wiring to the conduit on the building and the light came on again.
I had placed one and it was fine but second light that was placed wouldn't light until I reattached the wire. 馃槓

Sometimes it feels like they have a very quick rolloff in brightness, because even the dim ones still illuminate a little. I've always had better luck with the ceiling fans and industrial wall lights. Shame that the high-tech lights from Picket Fences light such a small space.

I'm slightly disappointed you used "wuts" instead of "watts"

Sometimes when I return to a settlement, the light bulbs take a while to load, so not only there won't be any light, but the bulbs seem to be missing as well, but after a time (A minute or two maybe) they reappear.

The round globe-like lights with the black stripe around them do not light up the floor beneath them....I put 3 rows up in my house (about 15)..came back later at night...and they only light up the ceiling above, not the floor...so my house was still dark...lame..

Noticed it, I've moved to the industrial lights now, personally like them in some places lighting it from the ground :)

I haven't had that but my lightbulbs randomly disappear and then reappear when I enter build mode. it makes it hard to keepup.

I don't know if it's the same issue, but I've installed a ceiling fan and some of the overhanging "ball" lighting and they light up such a small radius around them that I still have to use my pip boy light inside at night in order to see. Since Bethesda has always had poor interior lighting for houses in previous games, I just figured the lack of adequate light levels was working as intended.

Sometimes you need to have more energy. So connect all the generators by wire and make sure that all things needing power are connected to this main line that all the power is going to.
