Wyre bash, cobl 'item interchange' question.

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 7:50 am

I haven’t played Oblivion in ages so for the past week I’ve been downloading and OMOD’ing my new shiny collection of mods, learning how to use Wyre Bash’s bashed patch feature (don’t know how I got on without this before) amongst other things, However I’ve encountered a problem ...

Basically Francesco’s plus its items but not the creatures, and the latest MMM are the ‘core’ of my new mod list. I’ve also added Armamentarium Complete v1.35 to the mix and used Wrye Bash to merge the level list and it seems to have worked (remember I‘m new to Wyre bash), well I had a quick run through and I didn’t see any missing meshes or textures, but I also couldn’t really identify any Armamentarium items either, maybe they where in but I just couldn’t tell.

But I’ve also noticed that Cobl has something called ‘Item Interchange’ which if I remember correctly allows level lists from different mods to effect the loot system.

I’m just wondering which method is best to use. Am I going to run into problems later with my bashed patch (are the armamentarium items actually in), should I switch to the Item Interchange, or do I use a combination of the two.

The readme for Armamentarium Complete v1.35 on the tesnexus also says that it is not compatible with Francesco’s, but I don’t know if that information can be ignored if you use either of the two methods I’ve mentioned above.

Hope you can help.

I would presume not; otherwise, Armamentarium's author would have mentioned Wrye Bash...However, you can run Armamentarium with FCOM. Item Interchange does not solve compatibility issues, so...that is out. I am guessing you would need a support plugin of some sort.

I run full FCOM with with Armamentarium and it works fine. Item Interchange and the Bashed Patch are very different; the Bashed Patch is used to make sure that if two mods change the same thing (a place, a leveled list, etc), that they will both work; Item Interchange takes items from various mods and adds them to new leveled lists (and in fact requires Bashed Patch to work). Think about it like this; you have a mod that adds a new "Horse Meat" ingredient, and you have a different mod that adds new horses. Item Interchange would try to add the new Horse Meat to the new Horses even though they're from totally different mods. Wrye Bash will mix the new items from Item Interchange with the new items from any other mods changing the horses, and so all the changes will occur together. Now Item Interchange only works on a specific list of supported mods, but that's the general idea. Happy Modding!

If low level things link black iron, fur green, black iron arrows, etc. The LL.esp and LLMagic.esp will work with Francesco, but, will not be balanced for frans.

Item Interchange work fine with Armamentarium but does not get around the balancing problem.

There is a old Armamentarium for Frans Patch, but, it does not have the Armamentarium Complete 1.35 features . I am working on Arma for Frans version just going to take a while to get it done.

However, you can run Armamentarium with FCOM.

They are not using FCOM..They are using Frans/MMM/Armamentarium..

Thanks for the replies it's much appreciated.

I did look at FCOM when I first came back to playing oblivion, but I was never much of a fan of OOO, to static for my liking. I also have the old Armamentarium for Fran's ready to put back on which I will probably end up using. I look forward to armamentarium complete for Frans though :goodjob:
