Wyre Mesh Help

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 4:46 am

I attempted to run Wyre Mash and it blipped up a window then closed. This is what i got when i ran a bugdump:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\morrowind\Mopy>c:\python27\python.
exe mash.py 0
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "mash.py", line 7, in

File "c:\python27\lib\site-packages\wx-2.8-msw-ansi\wx\lib\activex.py", line 3

import comtypes
ImportError: No module named comtypes

I'm curious as to what the problem is exactly and if possible how to go about fixing it. Downloaded and installed both Python 2.7.1 and wxpython ansi for 2.7.
Thank you for any help you can provide in advance.

You can safely remove both Python 2.7 and Wrye Mash, because I don't think that version is not compatible with Wrye Mash. I could be wrong about this.
The second thing is why do you mess with Python at all, when you can install http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1106095-wrye-mash-stand-alone/ which does not require Python. :D

import comtypes
ImportError: No module named comtypes
Try installing comtypes, it seems it is no more included in Python 2.7; more details http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=3248990.

It is not insanely difficult to customize Mash source code, it is convenient for instance for passing selected Mash files to external tools like tes3cmd.exe

:huh: What are you talking about... customize Mash source code ...when Wrye Mash already has it's own http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1106095-wrye-mash-stand-alone/ thanks to Melchor. :)

If the OP have problems with Python it self or the python-based version of Wrye Mash should ask any question in an already active thread instead.
