PC/X360/PS3 differences

Post » Wed Oct 21, 2009 1:29 am

Hi,

I wonder what the differences between all platforms will be. For example, in several video's I saw people shooting walls and stuff, that looks awesome IMO, the wall actually will be destroyed. I can imagine it's harder to render this on a console, so will there be less debris when shooting things on the console?

It could also be more like Metro 2033; the console's shaders/shadows/textures are far less beautiful/complicated than on the PC (the PC version has lots of sunshafts, high res shadows, etc., console doesn't).

Since I can't make up a real difference from those video's, I decided to just ask it here.

Each version of the game will be scaled graphically to look the best as possible and optimized on each platform.

That is the developer tool, there is no proof that the end user will be able to do that in Crysis 2.

Well, really, texture and lighting, maybe object detail. That's about all you can do difference wise. The game itself is going to be the same on all platforms, unless Crytek goes back and mods the PC version.

I'm fairly sure they'll release that since Crysis had it's own SDK.

I wouldn't expect any better debris or physics on PC as both consoles actually have fairly decent CPU's. I will be expecting vastly better visuals tho!

Crytek might just surprise us all and make all versions of the game the same!

If Crytek did that, I would be highly disapointed. The good thing though is that it won't. From what I've read on review websites, the PC version of Crysis 2 looks substantially better than the Console versions.
As long as PC gets the option to look much better than a console, fine by me
Surely that would depend on the PC specs, an entry level PC as an instance, well i guess you know the rest, spend my friend spend, :D

I have a pc and would like them to make slightly better graphics for it. I want to feel like my time and money was well spent, and I'm sure Crytek will deliver.
