X360, PS3 stopped Skyrim to reach it's full potential?

i guess you're one of those ignorant people who wants TES to go back to ONLY being on PC?

right, well you do realize bethesda would be making alot less money, then... right?

more money = more, better games... also, the money goes towards their families too, im sure... you just want everyone to suffer for your own damn selfish desires...

bethesda's fanbase has grown considerably due to the console versions, which means they become more popular... you see where im going with this, right... or are you just too short-sighted and ignorant, which this topic and poll seems to point out?

i really hope a moderator closes this topic, because its just [censored].

I think Bethesda doesn't want Skyrim to be regarded like Crysis, as a benchmark for having the most pimped out PC around.

It's my hope that Bethesda would want to make a good game all around, not just a good way to see of your gaming PC is top dog.
(Also, I'm not saying Crysis wasn't a good game, I can't really say because I couldn't afford a PC to make it run.)

Hm, can't cost that much to do some adjustments that would benefit the game on PC that you can't do for the consoles?
To be honest, I have no idea what they are doing to make it different from the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3... All I know higher texture but still DX9, I guess?

some slight adjustment would not but it seems like people want an entire graphic overhall. DX 11 would be nice for the PC and Todd said the PC version will be able to use it, to what extent i have no idea.im on both sides here. its just eaiser to do it that way. a small but highly contreversal thing i would like to see is a diffrence in the UI for the PC and the UI for the console. becuse no matter what you do, a UI Built for a PC never works well for a console, and a UI built for a console never works well for a PC. always comes out clunky and strange.

yes the only chage is texture quality for the two consoles but all the demo are on the xbox, and they look damn good to me for that old of a console, to be honest i believe consoles still have some hidden potential in them. but ill be getting Skyrim on both xbox and later the PC.

If you don't like a thread, avoid it. Only reason this thread would be closed because too many people like yourself would post in it when they have nothing to say really then to be negative and say "close thread".

And honestly, you know PC games can change what settings they want to play on - and we arn't talking just about graphics, me personally don't talk about graphics much at all.

I'm saying that PC could get more rather then being just as Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3. Just because they are limited because of the memory doesn't mean PC have to be aswell.
You could for example be able to view towns and go into houses and leave without being forced a loading screen that is pointless probably these days with so high standard there is on ordinary cheap computers these days and again, you can change settings on PC games. I know you can't on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Also this game is very like Oblivon graphic wise so I hardly think any PC will struggle if they made a seamless world in the towns, houses, enter and leave with no loading screen.

Only problem is if we juice up the PC version and make it superior to the Consoles the fans will start complaining, well why can't I have that certain feature. Beth is going with the "all 3 systems will be equal mentallity" which I think is the best solution for everybody.

Skyrim is being held back by consoles(mostly 360). It would be a much better game if it was PC only.

I guess this game will be a console port then with higher textures? If you remember going thru all these small parts of the big city in Oblivion, you had a loading screen for each part you went too. It's not very open and seamless as it could be, because honestly it's not that very large parts you went thru either. So will console fans cry out loud if PC get no loading screens? I don't know, I'm more mature then acting jealous that another platform doesn't have loading screen. Anyways, can't they just configurate somewhere in the engine for PC that it would use more memory? I don't know. So we get this more open seamless world within city walls or houses, whatever.

The only thing holding it back is memory and Graphics. Not to mention that the majority of players are now console based meaning that would hurt Beth's sales.

I'm sorry, but more people would rather pay 300 dollars for a system that can handle games, instead of having to pay more to invest in a gaming computer that will have the same longevity of a gaming console.

And personally, I think the only real advantage that the PC version of ANY game will ever hold over the console versions is the ability to mod it, and games that don't support some sort of customization software are just pointless and aren't worth buying. There are only a very few exceptions to that rule, like WoW and EVE, but that's because they have such complex interfaces, they need a full keyboard and mouse to function effectively.

Just sayin'.

I think we all should stop saying it would be better for PC only. We should rather discuss what could be done to make PC version of the game different? And why not? I don't believe it's that complex, that it's undoable. And if reason not to do anything is somebody is afraid to upset console [fan boys], then god help us all.

The last question is stupidly biased.

Yes, Beth wants to maximize profit, but it doesn't mean they don't care about the community or making a good game.

Furthermore, their responsibility is to all TES fans, not just those of us who are PC gamers. Being "true to the PC gaming community" is no more or less important than being true to gamers on the 360 or PS3. They will all be shelling out the same cash for the game.

Indeed, why not? That's what I'm saying. (LastDuaL read here:) I don't think it's fair to say well - Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 can't handle open cities, so that is why PC will not have open cities.. Because Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 will set the standard for your PC game today! PC version should be allowed to have open cities because it's very-very doable with the standard of memory on even low systems.

I understand that this thread was trying to remain un-biased at first, but look at it now.

Beth has shifted their priority from PC to Consoles. It is unfortunate, but you can't expect a company to grow and remain stagnant. This is how Dev studios tank. They need to adapt and change to the global market, as every smart business does. The entire industry has a focus on consoles now. It's simple dollars and cents. I know it sounds cruel, but its the truth. Keep in mind that Beth DOES in fact have corporate masters, Zenimax. They call the shots.

This thread should really close.

Agreed, I can't afford a PC that can run Skyrim on max but I'm just saying it is true that it can be better if PC only.

He's basing that off of the fact that graphics and the game engine kept getting tune-ups, as well as some key gameplay corrections, making them better than their predecessors. And I must agree with him, those games improved with each step. The only thing that Fallout 3 really needed was more complete reload animations and a true ADS system and it would have been impossible to choose between 3 and NV.

And if you think Morrowind was in every way better than Oblivion (not factoring graphics and physics in), then you're insane. All I have to do to disprove that argument is to point at the "chance to hit" calculator you got when you swung your sword at opponents, and lol at your defeat.

Please read under here! You can't just take what have been said or whatever somebodies opinion is and say, hey this is bad - okey. Thread closed, your just contributing with oil on bonefire that isn't even on fire.. You have tiny devils running around trying to put fire on it like yourself with repeating the same thing over and over while others actually discuss, not all. Some, so let us, those few discuss.

What is - is, what we discuss we discuss - and we imagine things, it's our opinion to do so and you don't need to share the same opinion but to come to a thread to say the thread should be closed in the end, is sad and lame.

Real discussion continues under here:

There's only one problem with Open Cities, how would we compensate for Dragons attacking the city unlike in the console version. I know somebody is probably going to mod that into the game eventually for the PC version.

Would you be alright with it if it meant pushing back the PC release date by several months? Beth could potentially get rid of all separate cells (for interiors, cities, etc.), but that would require a lot of extra work and testing.

You seem to think rather highly of The Witcher 2, but does it offer a 100% seamless world without any separately loaded cells? It seems people are holding Bethesda to an absurd double standard.

Another one of these threads? That last question was really bad, because it implies that the developers are just like, "screw the PC community", and the only reason they're making the game for PS3 and 360 is because "money is everything!". That's ridiculous. It's not like they just don't care about the PC community, like you're saying, but they care equally about console gamers. Why should they only care about PC players? If they were really like, "Money is everything" they'd have some crappy wii version of the game coming out as well... which won't happen.

More than half of Bethesda's success is thanks to console gamers these days. It's not like they just don't care about the PC community, like you're saying, but they care equally about console gamers. Why should they only care about PC players.

PC is what made TES what it is. It started on PC and is kept alive by PC players. Consoles make more money and more money is the goal of every game developer whether they admit it or not.
