Bug.

Before Quest " Diplomatic Immunity"

Dragon attack on whiterun ( Random ) Killed dragon got soul.


Belethors shop is now closed and locked perminately. Has been for 1 month game time tried at several different times durng the day. He Has just disapeared..


Noticed After patch 1.2, today


7th play through since launch. 1st time seen this happen.

I started having texture problems Sunday night playing off-disc. I first noticed some extremely bland textures on the plaques along the 7,000 stairs up to High Hrothgar that would pop in whenever I would trigger them. I had never installed the game, nor had I had any texture related issues up until this point (aside from random water effects popping in and out, which reloading fixed). I do a manual save in front of one of the bland plaques and give my system some downtime. A few hours later I restart, clear my cache and proceed to reload my save. Not only are all of the plaques still bland and muddy, but so are all of the snow-covered rocks, or really any stone objects in my game around me at this point. I enter the temple and the textures look even worse (it's mostly stone floors and walls). After triggering the usual first-time dialogue I follow the Greybeards out back and the snowy rocks on the floor just outside the door look so bad they are almost luminescent. I just want to stress that up until this point I hadn't even considered installing this game because after (hopefully) reading these forums they will realize that this is happening off-disc as well.

After this, I promptly moved my saves to a USB stick and deleted the Skyrim related stuff from my HDD. I then swapped out my HDDs, formatted and cleared the cache on my old one just for this game. Updated and started a new game hoping my textures would be fixed. Not at all. The intro looks so much worse when the dirt and stone near the chopping block are all but indistinguishable from each other and doing that weird pixelated dance bad textures do. It's even worse in the Keep, where there is moss all over the floors and walls that looks blocky and bad. The stone walls that some of the buildings have look plastic and shiny and anything and everything looks really bad up close. Even the initial loading screen with Alduin looks really bad, the wings and claws have a bland muddy texture, as does most of his body. What I found odd about this was that the word wall he rests on was pretty sharp, in that I could make out what was carved into it, and it actually looked like it loaded properly.

Even weirder still, 1.2 has improved my textures slightly, but only while installed to my HDD, something I had never done before, even though this was supposedly only an issue when installing. By no means does my game look like it did before any of this (everything still looks really bad up close and a lot of clothes and armor lack fine textures), but there has been improvement in that some grass textures look really nice again and the stone/dirt paths look SOMEWHAT nicer. And when I say everything looks bad up close, I mean EVERYTHING, wood, trees, flowers, ingredients that rendered really well before, it's all just a bland mess now. That's about it.

And every time i get a close up of my char when his face seems to have a totally different color compared to the body, equip hide armor for example and you will know what i'm talking about, same thing happens with the hands, it looks like a blurry mess but when you look at the forearm it is sometimes properly defined, don't avoid this bethesda the texture issue is still going on as you see so GSTAFF update that on the what we are working on thread, instead of ignoring it completely and saying the 1.2 patch fixes this very problem which most certantly does not.

I did, notice that most, if not all of the textures for the weapons I was using were not loading properly. My axes and shields were all out of focus and blurry. I can't for sure say if all of the armor is affected in my game, but all the various fur armors, leather, iron, and studded variants were. I also noticed that sometimes my arms would have details and then sometimes they wouldn't, I had read that this was linked to going into menus and such, but I haven't had a chance to test this myself. Again I am stressing that this is all off-disc after clearing the cache, now happening with all versions of the game (1.0, 1.1, 1.2, all tested).

I was curious about whether I had a faulty disc because this was supposed to be limited to installing the game, so I exchanged my copy for a new one, still no luck...

sorry if its been patched or said before here are a few glitches i've noticed

Arrows get stuck in you after a 3rd person fight with archer (hasnt happened in a while not sure if it was patched)
sometimes i will get attacked by multiple dragons and only one will render right and give soul
ebony helmet is off the neck looks displaced and the helmet clips with the neck
neckless clips with Nightingale set and dark brotherhood armor sets (not sure if its a glitch)

nothing to bad but would be nice if it was patched

Random Dragon Glitch locations so far.

Glitch = Flying eraticly, stuck in md air and not moving.

Bonestrewn Crest and Random Dragons Eastward of that location.

Ok, now I am having issues with overall lag. I am experiencing longer load times then normal. I am having issues in "repairing the white vial" the briarheart can be removed but it shows up as the still active waypoint,can't turn it in at all. Also I am having issues where everyone,i mean everyone starts talking twice before they go all the way through the dialogue. Please,please fix this problems,they keep getting worse an worse,i just want my dog,books and wepons racks back...oh and hey a playable mission or two might be welcome! I would like to finish this game! :D

While chasing the Stormcloak Courier, I came across a Dragon (Win-something, I have a terrible TV) and this dragon fight was challenging. The dragon itself was pretty weak, but the fact that he was invisible made it hard. My follower hit him with an arrow, which I could see floating around so I had to use that to fight it.

Oh and on the loading menus and pause menus,ugly-ass black boxs pop up on the outside of my charecter/models on screen.

After I finished the quest I gave it to the orc who runs the library at the mage's college.

Texture glitches persist. I am walking and the ground fades to low res randomly. The texture in the distance suffer horrendously, the waterfalls especially the waterfalls they look like mudslides. They are terribly rendered. You have to get really close to them to see the water even flowing.

Please fix the magic resistance glitch, I hate to have any perks and any resistance and it does not work.

Fix the backward flying dragons...

After his death, Skjor appeared back in Whiterun and I could accept jobs from him. I don't know if this will prevent me from completing the quest line, but considering the amount of broken quests in the game already, I'm guessing it will.

Quest: A Blade in the Dark

Platform: 360

Problem: When I return to the Riverwood inn with the "mysterious note" and ask for the attic room, Delphine doesn't follow me into the room, but continues what she's doing.

Attempted fixes: Waiting, opening dialogues with her and attacking her to lure her into the room.

Possibly related: Random dragon attacks, which are supposed to occur after this quest

I just noticed a few Bugs too, don't know if they have been mentioned. Anything that "Fortifies Pickpocket" actually degrades your pick pocketing ability. For example my +25% Pickpocket locket actually lowered my chances by about 15%. In fact, ANY item with pickpocket "bonus" actually penalizes you. Also, another bug I have encountered, far more frustrating, is the Dragon Battle Theme song has stopped playing when fighting any dragon. This bug seemed to start after a particulary glitchy encounter with a dragon that didn't move or defend itself when I found it. Since then, no dragon battle music. All other music plays normally however.

Oh and this is all pre-patch 1.2

Random Dragon Attack on Rverwood killed Faendal ( was not a follower ) and Alvor the Blacksmith.

Thieves Guild: I'm having much the same trouble. I did the quest where I plant the ring on the Dunmer, and Brynjolf told me to meet him in the Ragged Flagon. I've been to the Ragged Flagon and I've waited there in hour increments for forty-eight hours at one point, though only once did I do it that long. He never shows. When I approach and talk to him in the market, he says to meet him in the Ragged Flagon, and that it's not safe to talk where we are. When I ask him about the Ragged Flagon's location, he tells me it's right under my nose and he's not going to hold my hand. I've tried talking to people around Riften to see if any of them will trigger him to go down there, but nothing on any of my tries.

Waking Potema (I don't recall of the top of my head the exact name of the quest): When asked to talk to Styrr about the key, I'm not getting an option to. I can ask him about Potema, but he does not give me a key or offer any option which will lead to me getting it.

I know other folks mentioned these issues, but I thought that I'd just confirm that they are not alone:

Breezehome

After the patch I'm having problems with the bookshelf in Breezehome. It doesn't let me take books off of it, or put them on.

I'm also experiencing the problem with being unable to interact with the weapon rack in Breezehome. This was happening before the patch and is still a problem.

Whiterun

Outside of Whiterun, I have two of the same guy just outside the stables. One is halfway into the ground. When I walk by, they both just stare at me. It's really creepy. Happened before the patch and is still there.

Dragons

Sometimes dragons don't desolve after killing them and I won't get the soul. Hasn't happened to me since I got the patch, but it only happened once before the patch

The dragon at Dragonstooth Crater would fly around, then suddenly reappear sleeping on the ground. Once he reappeared, I attacked him but couldn't do any damage. At this point, he wouldn't get up from the position he was in. It appeared that his head and neck were stuck in the ground. This was before the patch, but I have already reloaded and killed him, so I haven't been back there since.

These are all that I've noticed so far. I've played approximately 70 hours.

After thirty minutes solid of chopping wood at the Half-Moon Mill in an attempt to impress the Miller's wife, Hert, an effing dragon randomly swept down out of nowhere and toasted her. This was most inconvenient.

My main issues:


Cannot enter yngol barrow...as soon as you take 1 step in after spawn the color map goes very dark, blurry, you cannot access favorites or the menu---you can save/load. Its impossible to see anything....or do the quest

Return to the wizards college after labyrinthia ( staff of magnus)....I am immediately attacked by everyone including my companion....tried reloading 6 times, spawn outside and as soon as I enter winterhold ( the college is missing from the map) I'm attacked. Have not found anyone else to confirm if this is supposed to be like this but it makes no sense...I'll check a wiki again.


Lockpicking...at level 50, with three perks added, can add an amulet at 15, ring at 15, apparel at 10 and a potion at 40 percent easier and when I enter jail, in the Chill, I've tried a dozen times to unlock the cage and it won't unlock...the lockpicks snap. Will try again.....

Had horses drop out of the sky in front of me :)

Prior to 1.2 I visited Riverwood to sell the leftover items that Whiterun didn't have the gold for... And was surprised by a dragon. I killed it then went for the blacksmith only to notice he wasn't there. Went to his house and he wasn't there... Waited for a few days... didn't show up. I believe that the dragon killed him (there was a dead guard near the little bridge over the creek) so I reloaded the save file, repeated the dragon kill as fast as I could, then noticed the blacksmith was there again!

Long story short... That guy needs to be more careful around dragons! (Pre 1.2)

Not sure if anyone else noticed and I have not seen it on the forums. Seems alot of the souls I trap do not work. I put them away in storage and when I try to use them there are only a few that show up in my inventory. I can have like 15 petty and only get maybe 3 or 4 out of it that seem to work. NEEDS A PATCH HERE.......LOL The only ones that work the most are the store bought or looted soul gems that already have souls in them. Also the soul gems I speak of will work for recharging, but not when you want to enchant with them, they won't be in the enchant tables inventory to choose.

Another glitch I noticed is sometimes I can be using arrows up. Yet I still have the same amount in my inventory when I look after a battle. I know I have picked some back up. But not all of them. I can shot some guy with 3 or 4 and only get one back from looting his corpse.

I will keep adding more to my post later. So GStaff can get a look at the issues.

When Sigurd turns to talk to me, he goes bald then fades away to "invisible", then turns to walk away, reappears and gets his hair back :D

Not a big deal but it's definitely a bug :)

my gardens or mines do not seem to be replenishing after several in game months of waiting.....I verified this with the garden in the mages quarters several months after I became arch mage, same with the garden at the purchased home in Riften......also the gold mine, ebony mine, and silver mines are not replenishing.
