Bethesda is watching this topic so hopefully most of these can be fixed in the next patch.

Blood on the ice - I saw someone else posting the same problem: Skips the "patrol the stone quarter at night" phase and jumps directly to "catch the murderer". When I find him in the house I can knock him down but can't actually kill him - and I'm definitely hitting him as I'm only using a dagger and I see blood flying from him while he crawls around.

Also in Riften after I was partway through the Thieves' Guild side quests (doing burglary jobs) I would notice that if I arrived in town at night a Thief would spawn in the market. All the townspeople would rush from their houses and together with the guards would kill the thief. This was kind of good, as each thief had random jewels, gold and five lockpicks on their bodies. The downside is that the town is slowly filling up with thief corpses.

Also as part of the Blades storyline - Esbern asks me to give him a dragon bone and scale and he makes a "Dragon Infusion" portion. It is supposed to give my character a "Dragon Infusion Perk" when consumed. I used the potion, but don't see any new perk. According to the Elder Scrolls Wiki this is a known bug for all three versions of the game...

Im using the last patch 1.2.

I do not have encountered any bugs since i bought the game.

But i had one freeze last night during a loading.

Markarth city guards try to arrest you and send you to cidnah mine after completing the forsworn quest

Having this issue too. As an additional piece my follower is stuck in the Shrine of Talos, perpetually fighting guards even though I have already completed this quest. The follower will not leave the shrine. NOTE: If your follower is stuck here you can go into Beast Form and kill the guards (they will not be able to "Talk" to you and arrest you if in Beast Form), then disband your follower. Not a fix but I was at least able to get a new follower this way.

Hey guys, I scanned through your excellent list of bugs. I was wondering how many of these had been tested as to whether they were pre-patch or a direct result of patch 1.2.

I've encountered a really annoying problem that I don't think is covered in your list. In the game world, there is a highly obvious radius of textures around your player character, extending for a radius of about sixty in-game feet. This is easiest to see in Whiterun Hold, just stand on a tall hill that gives you a good view of the surrounding areas, and walk around a bit. You can physically see the textures crawling along the ground with your movement, I don't remember seeing anything like this in Oblivion, Fallout 3, or New Vegas. I think the radius needs to be extended a bit to be less obvious. It's really driving me nuts, it's like the grass only grows around my character. I tested this in both patch 1.1 and patch 1.2, the problem was still present.

At the Whiterun Stable, I noticed that there was one guy stuck in the ground at the waist (I think it's the stable owner). Then when I went back the guy was still there but he had a clone beside him, but out of the ground, then 2, then 3...

Ha! I have that too - the guy stuck in the ground with a clone beside him. So far they haven't added to their number.

-"Find Finn's Lute" can't complete if found prior to quest
-"Find Pantea's Flute" can't complete if found prior to quest
-"Find Rjorn's Drum" can't complete if found prior to quest


I only found the Lute prior to the quest and was asked to retrieve the other items but they are still stuck in my inventory.

"Purity of Revenge" may not trigger upon completion of "Blood's Honor"
Broken for me as well.

With the White Phial quest I picked the briarheart out of the guy and it just still has the arrow pointing at the dead body but I have the briarheart.




When will these things be fixed?

I've only noticed the texture issue, magical resistance not working, and a few quest glitches that I was usually able to resolve by loading a previous save.

With the 360's hardware being as old as it is (released December '05) that really isn't possible.
If it was extended it could cause severe lagging as the 360 attempted to load many textures at once.

Microsoft should have just released a new console but at least it will be out in 2013.

I guess this would fall under interface? But apparently since the recent patch theres been a bit of an issue with accessing/activating things, least for me but one example is any books i have on my bookshelves in any house, if i take one off whether by going in to the shelf or just outside totally disables the current shelf from being used anymore, even disables the books from being taken off the shelf from the outside

Also not sure if this was intended or not, but since theres the option to create 2 rings at a time through smithing, it seams you cant wear 2

House of Horrors Bug 360.....

At the end you are placed in a Cage by an Altar with a Rusty Mace.

The options I was given did not allow me out of the cage.

Game became very slow and kept looping into the dialog with only 3 choices of which I could not get out of without reloading a previous save.


Same here. Totally glitched on my 360.
Entered house with the Vigilant of Stendar, he stands in one spot (doesn`t go into any other rooms to investigate) and only repeats "we can`t get out" after I tried the doors. The stuff gets thrown around and nothing else happens unless | kill him, then the voice tells me to go down. I go down talk to Molag Bal at the Altar and ask about the mace or altar. He frees me from the trap and says go bring the priest to him. Unfortunately I am stuck in the house forever as the door always says it needs a key and will not open.

Reverting to a previous save, way back now :(

After taking on an optional quest for the companions where you have to rescue an imprisoned man in a cave, I can no longer Fast Travel anywhere. It always says that I'm being pursued by Guards. I have tried to walk into random areas to get a load screen, and then walk back out and have the same issue. The only way that I can quickly travel is by using the carriage system. Even after utilizing a carriage ride from Solitude to Riften, if I try to Fast Travel I still get the same issue.

BUG? As I pointed out in a different post mentioning Riverwood's inn, there might be some bug -I am on the X360- when renting a room in an inn. I rented one in Ivarstead, and after sleeping for about 11 hours, I was able to take almost everything -except a maze or something like that- in there, because there was no warning message (the Steal thing) on top of the name of the items.

HAHA! I have only the one dude half way through the ground...my horse always stands over him.(that guy is one ugly mother @#!%)

Perhaps not a bug, but upon becoming a vampire it appears that your character's skin turns several shades darker rather than lighter - to the point of appearing to be a Redguard regardless of (human) race. However NPCs will mention your skin being pale as snow despite this.

While a vampire the Thieves Guild Hood does not appear when worn. Rather it makes your character bald while occasionally allowing you to equip a second head piece at the same time as the Hood, curing vampirism seems to fix this.

The Elder Scroll that can be found during "Discerning the Transmundane" can not be dropped even after the quest is completed. It has a weight of 20.

I've discovered there's a rather... bizarre requirement.... that apparently needs to be fulfilled in order for the Jarl of Markarth to give you the quest to fetch his uncle's shield (which you need to complete in order to be allowed to buy property in Markarth) that's probably gone unnoticed. I stumbled on it after I couldn't get the quest from him and couldn't figure out why. I was level 20 (the required level for the quest) and had done everything that he'd asked of me up to that point, but he still had no dialogue option for the quest. I waited for several days. Did some other quests, etc. etc. Still nothing. So what finally fixed it? Entering the Shrine of Talos in Markarth and then leaving.

That's it. Just walking in through the door and then walking back out. I hadn't bothered with going in there because I didn't want to proceed with the "Forsworn Conspiracy" quest. But then I ran out of ideas so I thought "Okay, well maybe I'll just do the first few steps." But literally, all I did was enter the Shrine of Talos (where you're supposed to meet Eltrys) and leave. I didn't even talk to Eltrys. And then when I went back to the Jarl, I finally got the dialogue reading "Do you have any more work for me?" and he gave me the "fetch my uncle's shield" quest.

I reloaded from previous saves repeatedly just to check this out, and got the same result each time. He'd never give me the quest no matter what I did, but entering the Shrine of Talos and leaving, and then going back to the Jarl would make it available.

I hope these have not been mentioned, I read through everything and I did not see them.
Weapons- Improved weapons damage amount randomly increases and decreases when fast traveling, reloading, or entering a new location. (Post patch)
Quest -Larceny item from the quest Blindsighted is not marked as a quest item and cannot be sold to Delvin (Pre and post Patch)
Thieves guild- This is similar to houses but I have only seen it happen on the trophy case behind Mercers desk. Items randomly fall off and do not reset back to the normal position. (post patch)


Hang in there everyone it's a big game problems are bound to crop up!
