I don't know if this bug has been mentioned yet but I am having a problem triggering the Blood on the ice quest and can't buy the house in Winterhold because of it. When I try to buy the house from the Steward he said I cant at the moment because of some problem, that problem I presume is the murder that took place in Hjerim which is linked to the Blood on the ice quest. The problem is I cant start the quest after trying different ways.

I know one way to trigger the quest is to go to Winterhold's cemetery at night and there should be a group of people huddled around a body but it is empty. I also know it is required to enter Winterhold a certain number of times in order to start the quest (I've done so more that 10). The other way to trigger the quest is to go into Hjerim and investigate the blood stain, but I cant buy the house at the moment and the door cant be lock picked, so a friend suggested to take the key to Hjerim from the woman who lives next door. I did so successfully and finally got into to the house, investigated the blood and took the beware the butcher note but still nothing.

Anyone got a suggestion or should I just keep my fingers crossed for a patch?

It appears that the fists of steel perk is not stacking properly. I gather from youtube videos and claims from PC players that it should be all adding up to big damage but, playing as a khajiit with gaunlets rated 126, it still takes me 3 or 4 unarmed hits to take down an enemy I can slay with one or two hits from an axe rated 64. Is anyone else seeing this? I am also using a ring that gives +8 unarmed and the gauntlets are enchanted with +8 unarmed, for what little good it does. It would appear that the +16 from the gauntlets/ring and the +15 racial bonus from the claws are the only damage I'm doing and the fists of steel perk is not adding any damage at all.

I am in the same boat. I was drastically disappointed but that gives me some hope for my game that there might be a way to someday get that house. Have you tried talking to that Viola lady after you got the note? That's supposed to be the next step (I think. Like I said, I can't play the quest).

My fingers are bitterly crossed until January when they're supposed to try to fix the quest glitches. Very bitterly crossed.

I think it may have already been mentioned, but I can no longer load my most recent Skyrim save files, autosaves or normal saves. The game just gets stuck on an infinite loading screen (not frozen since the tips do keep changing.) I tried clearing the cache, installing the game, uninstalling it, redownloading the patch, but none of these have worked. Starting new games works, but that's about it.

Perhaps not a bug, but upon becoming a vampire it appears that your character's skin turns several shades darker rather than lighter - to the point of appearing to be a Redguard regardless of (human) race. However NPCs will mention your skin being pale as snow despite this.

While a vampire the Thieves Guild Hood does not appear when worn. Rather it makes your character bald while occasionally allowing you to equip a second head piece at the same time as the Hood, curing vampirism seems to fix this.

The Elder Scroll that can be found during "Discerning the Transmundane" can not be dropped even after the quest is completed. It has a weight of 20.

the elder scroll isnt a bug its still a quest item just turn it in to the orc guy in the collage of winterhold he will take it

Sound - Picking up items are playing the wrong sound file more than half of the time - For example, I pick up a potion or arrow, it plays the audio of picking up clothes. This started to occur late in my character build before patch 1.2 and with patch 1.2. I have since cleared my system cache to get rid of the 1.2 update. I started a new character and the bug is still present.

It's a minor annoyance for sure, but I hate how inconsistent the sounds are when half the time I'm picking crap up.

More bug reports, spoilers herein.

*Eldersblood Peak dragon, with half health, dropped onto the mountain and slid what I can estimate as nearly thirty feet toward me. It also didn't display or animate the flesh tearing off in the Dragon Soul Absorbed sequence.

*For some reason, after completing the companion questline and getting rid of my character's lycanthropy, the game is still counting every day as “days as a werewolf”. This is well after (fifty days after) throwing the Glenmoril witch's head into the fire and beating the crap out of the wolf spirit and getting rid of the power. I did this before the Nov. 30th update.

*Connected to the werewolf stuff, I also do not get a resting bonus for sleeping in a bed and no well-rested bonus for sleeping in a bed my character owns... I can get diseases now, though.

*My armor randomly does absolutely nothing, as if I were running around naked. There doesn't seem to be a work around, and it happens to all armor. This happened after the recent update (Nov 30th). This is really crazy, since I'm now fighting (basic) falmer that are hitting me once and chipping off half of my health. Usually donning some Glass amor (epic upgraded). Tried various workarounds, but no luck.

*The quest Arniel's Endeavor, where you're supposed to put the warped soul gem into convectors is broken. After I put the gem into the convector in the Mzulft ruins and heat it with the spell (Arniel's Convection), it changed the objective to put it into a final convector. After tracking down several convectors and attempting the same thing, they do not heat with the spell and the quest objective does not modify.

*Gallus' encoded journal can't be dropped after completing the questline. It's not very heavy, but eh.

The number of Louis Letrush's has gone from 3 to 4 now in my game. They're multiplying!
Also, if I leave the housecarl Lydia at home in Breezehome, she gets stuck upstairs in the master bedroom and keeps getting up and sitting down in the chair every 2 seconds if the door is open.

I noticed Jordis the Sword Maiden doesn't sleep in a two person bed when wed. Doesn't matter what house your in.

And I seem to have a gliched Blood dragon just flying around all the imperial camp making difficult to get a converstation from Legatte Rika for mission in the realm I'm in. Problems areas so far has been The Pale, Winterhold, and the Reach. I noiced that if I hit the dragon enough with Dragonrend it flys off and I can talk to Ritka and fast travel but if I return to the area the bloody dragon is back flying supersonic and backwards.

What just happened to me it's not a huge deal but I am reporting it because it is strange. I have the perk to behead people and I was in the Ratways under Riften and I was sneaking around and there was a women lowlife I got her attention with an arrow then shot her in the face she came in close so I pulled out my Dwarven Battleaxe (Exquisite) and chopped her head off but when I did her head was still attached and another head with no other features besides a face flew off. This is an epic glitch, and I don't know if I want it to be fixed because that was pretty cool. :D

Bug; Bound weapons failing to materialise, results in player unable to attack under any circumstance.

In a couple of rare instances I have had bound weaponry fail to materialise when cast and leave my character stuck in the raised hands position as if holding a weapon but I am unable to attack. Sheathing weapons or changing to another hot-keyed weapon has no effect. The character is still shown as having "raised hands". There is no active effect listed either in the magic menu, as is the case with a properly conjured weapon. Since no active effect is listed, waiting for the spell to end is not possible.

WTF? I'm being attacked by imperial guards in Riften although I'm an Imperial (plus I have completed Wildhelm/killing Ulfric) myself.

Just last night I encountered another unusual glitch that can occur when transitioning through cells. I was at Knifepoint Ridge, a bandit camp in the Falkreath hold that also contains an iron mine. I dispatched all the bandits perfectly fine, but when I went to go into the mine a glitch definitely occured, when I finished loading I was standing literally right in front of the bandit chief, a good 60-70 feet from the mine entrance. I have no idea what caused the glitch to happen but it seemed to have effected all cells after that, I tested a couple of forts and the same thing happened. Reloading an older save seemed to fix the problem, I lost a good hours progress, but definitely worth it to avoid a potentially devastating bug.

And Hadvar is following me now whenever I'm in whiterun. Kinda creepy.

My follower disappeared, I told him to stay in front of a house as I wanted to break into it, and when I got out he wasn't there anymore.

He had like 25k gold on him...

Just thought I'd share my problems with the new patch on 360:

I am 50 hours in and save very often. I probably have 20+ save games with the same character out of habit from Oblivion. Never had any real problems with the game until I installed the new patch.

Yesterday I picked up where I left off and went about my business in the game. First I noticed that a quest would not progress and the NPCs seemed to be stuck in the same dialogue even after waiting in game for some time. I chalked it up to a small glitch and moved on to another quest. This time I went through Voleruund (sp?) and noticed I could not progress through a certain door to the next area even with the required quest elements. I decided to try and reload to fix it. To my dismay I was greeted with a "Save file corrupt" prompt, not only with my manual save, but with all of my autosaves. I was able to get a older saved game (I believe pre patch) to work, although I lost 4 hours of gameplay. I am too afraid to keep playing until a new patch comes out for fear of losing everything.

These signs may be a symptom of your game being broken, so keep a look out for them.

MIscellaneous Quest - Speak to Degaine

Speaking to Degaine in Markarth brings up no quest related speech options and does not clear the quest from the log.

Another glitch I experience regularly is that your shout doesn't work if your weapons and/or shield it out and will then work when you sheathe your weapon. Sometimes this also stops you attacking until you sheathe your weapon.
