Very old news. That content was released in 2006-2007. The most recent of those dlc has been available since October 2007.

Well we did get Shivering Isles and Ko9. Shame it was Beth that did those ports instead of 4J.

Have you got your PS-3 online, and have you looked at the OPTIONS menu when you first pull the game up to play it?

That was how I finally found out about the X-360 add-ons, they were sort of lurking there waiting to be discovered...

I cannot imagine that gamesas would have overlooked that - and there is probably an options menu item about DOWNLOADS that needs to be explored.

If someone would go there with a PS3 and look it over, please tell me/us what you find...

~Wolfie

PS: As far as "EVERYBODY ALREADY KNOWS THAT"

1) I chased around here for many weeks (look at my join date) until just recently finding it ON MY OWN...

2) Many people I asked about it were long time Oblivion players, and told me back that they were available for PC but NOT (at all) for the XBOX

3) If that is true of my experience with XBOX 360, figure the odds that there is something we are missing - and that yes indeed such DLC's are out there waiting to be found...

PPS: (And I have said this elsewhere - what are you going to do, Fire me?)

Even though the game has been out for nearly ten years now - to me it is a brand new experience that is very current. I was into other games, that satisfied me well. When you think about games in general, bear in mind that "CHESS" still fascinates an extraordinary population to a degree that they study it and read up on the entire history of it.

In more recent times, the board game "RISK" has never failed in popularity. There are many spin-offs now of computer played versions.

"POKER"... I don't think I need to say anything about that game.

There ARE games that never fail to entertain, they never get old, and you can do them over and over for years without becoming tired of them at all!

But for me this is a new experience, and filled with stuff I can find and do.

I am sorry indeed if older players have become "jaded" by it, but I can't wait to get back to my latest player character and scheme.

And once I have the "ANTHOLOGY" (which I ordered online a few nights ago) I intend to go all the way back to the beginning, devil take the hindmost!!!

So you see - there are always new players. LIKE MYSELF!

And to us it is a wonderful new fantasy world...

all you had to do to find the DLC for your XBOX was go to the Marketplace and type in Oblivion, like I said its been there for a long time and most people already knew..
they weren't hidden..

and the PS3 didn't get the DLC.. not sure why, but those DLC were limited to PC and XBOX (licencing issues perhaps?)

NO!

What I did was START THE GAME, and then follow the option menues IN THE GAME ITSELF.

Have you tried that?

*Before I hit on that - I screwed around on XBOX LIVE until I got sick and tired of it, without finding anything.

* On a side note - it always did seem to me that the XBOX was a better platform than the SONY

It's not the fact that people have become jaded with the game, it's just that you're passing along very old news like it was something brand new. You're possibly the last Xbox user in the world to learn that those DLCs are available for that console system. It's certainly not "new" content.

To me, it IS brand new.

And I surely won't be the last....

There you are - you see it from your own perspective, not with new eyes viewing it for the very first time asI am.

*facepalm*

and following those Option menus takes you to the very same screen you will see in the XBOX Live Market place.. where EVERY game has DLC.. this is not a new discovery, it has been known for many years that that DLC is there..

And Please, lets not start a console war tonight..

I suppose there it must rest.

Still - I hope anyone new to oblivion will not be as frustrated at finding those as I was.

Fighters Stronghold was the entire reason I committed to the anthology purchase once and for all.

~ and then a day later found what nobody could tell me here

I tell you what - I am not here to argue but to share.

Friends are better to find than adversaries - and if the worst comes, we can at least:

"AGREE that we DISAGREE"

~or perhaps do not fully understand one another.

My favorites are the Fighters Stronghold (who can resist having your very own castle?), the Wizard's Tower, & Mehrune's Razor, which is a really great dungeon crawl.

Folks, Wolfie posted a thread in the Elder Scrolls Series Discussion Forum asking how to get the Fighters Stronghold on the Xbox. Before he found the answer himself, he got not one, but two posters telling him it was ONLY availabe on PC and no one told him to go look on Xbox live.

So it is totally understandable that he thought it was not common knowledge that these were available on Xbox. In this forum, we may all know about it, but in the broader forum community there seem to be a great many folks who don't know about it.

Hey, thanx Turija - I knew I wasn't having a psychological issue...

(at least - not any new ones  )

I did get a bit annoyed over the thread I posted getting locked, but a part of that was my own doing.

I completely forgot I had launched this one - and figured the linked post in Pluto's reply was to some other post buried amongst thousands of 'em.

Still at least if anyone ever asks, I can post them a link to this or the other post with clear and easy to follow directions regarding it.

I'm completely baffled by you not knowing this. After all, anyone who sets foot in this forum sees this thread: http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1089673-oblivion-dlc-available-online/at the top of the page...

You asked in The Elder Scrolls Series section but didn't ask in the Oblivion section? And didn't think to check that thread?

I'm confused.

You have to understand that I am also new to this forum - and it's unique "FORUM-SPEAK"

I realise now that "DLC" means "DOWN LOADABLE CONTENT", but I was looking for "ADD-ON" or "EXTENSION", so however was I to guess that?

~ 'Tisn't as if I were instantly mailed a USERS DICTIONARY when I first joined here, now was it?

Far as I knew, DLC stood for Definite Local Confusion...

Funny, when I google "dlc" the first result I get is the Wikipedia entry on "Downloadable Content." :)

Why is everybody giving Wolfie such a hard time? All he wanted to do was be helpful and let people know about this. I thought this community was better than this. :shakehead:

As Greywolf said, he was looking for "Add-on" or "Extension", not "DLC". It's hard to properly look something up (with or without Google) if you don't know what the actual term is.

You're right. My comment wasn't helpful. I was trying to be funny, and sometimes that doesn't do it.

I really wasn't thinking of you as "new," since I've seen you around for a while. I apologize for being unhelpful and inconsiderate.

:D

It's much too tense in here! C'mon guys (and gals), we're all here for the same reason. :tes:

Although I'm still bitter that PS3 players will never get all the cool add-ons, like the Fighter's Stronghold

Well, I have a sarcastic sense of humor, and I tend to needle my friends (and fully expect them to needle me back.) Sometimes without intending it, I cross that invisible line. It's sometimes hard to read people when we only have words on the page and a few emoticons to go by.
