Xbox 360 games on the cheap

Post » Sun May 11, 2014 8:08 pm

Now that the xbox 1 is out the price for games on the 360 should plummet. I'm looking for anything I can buy for 20$ or less and I need recommendations.

Mostly I'd like to find a good single player game with a decent story. I'm open to any suggestions, although I typically dislike the survival/horror genre.

Also ANYTHING 2 player co-op(split screen like the good ol days).

I guess a brief description of the game would help too. Thanks for the help!

Sadly they havent plummeted at all, and they have stated they will be still making 360 games for at least 3+ years.

Lost Odyssey. Arguably the best JRPG of the 7th console generation with a great story.

Other single player games I recommend are Bayonetta, Vanquish, Nier, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, Dust: An Elysian Tail and Shadow Complex. And the Castlevania: Symphony of the Night re-release if you don't mind older games.

Just last week a saw stacks of Xbox360 for $4 a piece. Grabbed Parasite Eve and Legend of Something instead.

That's what I do, plenty of good games there for reasonable money.

I just go to EB, and get the games used if I am unwilling to pay brand new price for. Get real good deals a lot of times. Yes you may not get the manual (you don't even get on in brand new games now anymore) or even the cover but who cares. I went to Future Shop, my son wanted Modern Warfare 3, and I wasn't going to pay $30 for it. Went to EB paid $10. Well $12.50 for the warranty since just in case the game gets scratched doesn't work.

The only games that are that cheap are the really old ones, and theyve been that cheap for a while.

I bought CoD: MW2 (again) at my local GameStop for $6.00. I find odd that I keep going back to the Modern Warfare series, I've tried Black Ops and Ghost but the MW series just has a special place in my heart for some reason ^_^.

I've recently downloaded this for free on Xbox live so grab it now while you can if you have a gold account.

Tales of Vesperia, probably the last Tales game before the Dub quality started to tank.. Very good game though..

Another one of those weird things...

The other day I was thinking of getting Hitman: Absolution, checked it out on Xbox and it was free. OK, I'll take that.

I was reading some reviews and thought I should get Burial At Sea 2, checked it out and it's also free, now downloading it.

Don't have a Gold subscription.

I'd like to get Far Cry 3, it's a little bit over what I have in my account, don't really feel like putting more in. Maybe if I wait around that will become free for some strange reason lol

Have you tried Gamestop.com? They've a massive selection of used titles under $20. If you time it right, you can buy 2 get 1 free.

Since the XO hasn't broken major penetration and there isn't a strong library right now, games haven't fallen. The really cheap games, such as sports titles, are usually so low as to get them out the door given there are so many of them.

Any older game that was very popular, though, may not be easy to find.

I can't really recommend any older games that aren't already well known, though I would definitely get Mirror's Edge. It's a pretty strong game which requires thinking more than shooting. I'd also recommend Alice: Madness returns.

These are single player only, though. I don't do much co-op or online play, hence the lack of recommendations.

Thanks for the recommendations. I was able to find Enslaved: Odyssey to the West for under 3$ on amazon. I'm gonna try to get enough to qualify for free shipping but the prices are not nearly as low as I thought (and hoped) they would be.
I'll have to checkout gamestop.com too.

Enslaved Odyssey to the West is a really good game. I lent my copy to someone for them to play. The next time I'm in their city I'm gonna get it back so I can replay it in 3D.

Also, try Diablo 3, that is a really good couch coop game.

Ultra Street Fighter 4 is coming out soon, that is also a good local multiplayer game.

Morrowind GOTY (Xbox, but plays on 360), Fallout 3 GOTY, Fallout NV Ultimate Edition, Oblivion GOTY, Skyrim Legendary Edition are must haves.

Mass Effect 1 is really good. I guess you might as well get all 3 if you can get em all cheap.

XCOM enemy unknown and xcom enemy within are good games, get one or the other.

Asuras Wrath is a good game. Its like a play along anime.

If you want a good collection, get a DDR game with 2x dance mats if you can find it for cheap, its good to add to you collection in case you have company over who are not gamers.
