Im a xbox 360 player

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 1:22 pm

It seems like everyone is going to just be modding what they want in, I am a xbox 360 player. I wont be modding, and I am worried because Todd already insinuated that modding was going to be a big part of the game.

When/ Where did he say that?

Xbox 360s can't mod, so you wouldn't be able to anyways.

To mod, you need and always will need a PC.

to get mods there is a chance, one day, consoles can get them.

Todd wants to let console user have mods, there is no technical limitations and Beth is for it, so its up to Sony and Microsoft.

If you really care, get it for pc. If Skyrim is that important a game to you, i.e your a hardcoe fan then the pc is really the way to go assuming mods don't make it to the consoles.

I paid hunderds of dollars just upgrade my pc for Beth open world games. There the reason I upgrade. Because I care that much about the Beth open world rpg games.

Wouldn't that be a good reason to want the ability to mod the game?

Mods also aren't always meant to "fix" things, but to change the experience. They let you play how you want to.

The game will be amazing by itself, you don't need mods to enjoy the true product.
Mods would add to the replay value, but that is currently a PC exclusive.

Modding has always been a big part of these games, but that doesn't mean that you're going to end up being short-changed in any way. You're just going to be limited in your ability to expand on what Bethesda is going to provide you.

mods may be on consoles but may not, and even if they are and just own a xbox then you will not be able to mod becuase the modding tools still require a moderatly good computer

Shouldn't you be used to this? Mods were a big thing in Morrowind & Oblivion(& pretty much any other pc game) as well.

I'm a 360 player myself but for Skyrim I'm going pc, for the modding plus I don't want my 360 to fail on me or destroy my copy of Skyrim;it ruined my copy of Oblvion(put a ring around the disk.).

Modding isnt a really bad thing like alot of Console gamers are lead to believe, its just on the Xbox and PS3 is it used for cheating in multiplayer granted it happens sometimes on PC but it never lasts. To the post above me just install the game and it will save both, any game you plan on playing for a while its worth taking up the space on your HD as it will prolong the life of your Disc Drive.

You could always mod your actual http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=sweet+modded+xbox&view=detail&id=16EF6FB9404C2CD96B62F6612D4B7B15F5AFE168&first=1&FORM=IDFRIR&qpvt=sweet+modded+xbox

I'm a 360 player too. I wish we could get modding, or at least the best of the best. But you have options...even if you don't have a system that can run it now, you will in 2-3 years most likely. Buy it for the 360 now, enjoy it. Down the road, buy it cheap and enjoy the avalanche of awesome mods.

Frankly, I doubt that's going to happen. Microsoft at least is not going to allow it unless they can make a buck off it somehow, and that is just going to cause too many problems. Sony maybe, I'm not really too aware of what their corporate mentality is like.

Skyrim is being built for the Xbox 360 a console released 6 count them 6 years ago, so any half decent PC sold between now and then will be able to run it. If you haven't bought a new computer since 2005 then I have to say I'm really very worried for you.

I overheard somewhere that they are trying hard to allow console players to receive mods. Unfortunately, consoles are limited to the hardware they have. Computers can upgrade specific requirements without spending your money on a brand new system every time.

Wouldn't that be a good reason to want the ability to mod the game?

When did he say he didn't want to mod the game? What part of "I have a 360 I'm missing out" don't you understand?

Its all in Sony and Microsofts hands now.

But if you really want the best Skyrim experience get it on pc(assume mods don't make it to the consoles). If Skyrim is that important to you, your that hardcoe of a fan,etc its clearly the way to go. I have spent hundreds of dollars for upgrades all based on Beth's open world rpg release schedule. I will upgrade again for Skyrim. Because its that important to me, I don't care if there were no other games I would play on pc, in fact for a 5 year period the only games I played were Oblivion and Fallout 3. I was only a part time gamer. I spent $300 dollar on a graphics card for OB and $300 more for a cpu and graphics card upgrade for FO3. Sure the cpu came in handy for every day computer stuff, but the first $300 dollar card I basically used for one game, OB and a little bit for FO3(before the new card came in) and I think it was money well spent.

Is it at all possible to mod on a console? No. Does the technology exist to make it possible? Yes.

Most people will tell you that modding would be 'impossible' to accomplish on a console. Fortunately, many of them don't have a damn clue as to what they're talking about.

Heheh. Yes there is.

The X360 and PS3 are essentially 5-to-6-year old machines that were "mid-range" overall hardware-wise when they came out. By today's PC hardware standards, they're obsolete.

The X360 and PS3 would curl into a fetal position and wish it could die if it tried to run some of the mods that are out for Oblivion, FO3, or FONV. Heck, probably Morrowind's too.
