Video Here

I put this together yesterday, figured it would be interesting to some people. It took quite a while to edit, so any feedback/comments would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys.

It's a well made informative video. I say Good Job.

To others who are curious... there are no spoilers in the video, as it's from the multiplayer demo.

The primary differences seem to be that the PC version has stronger HDR and textures with higher resolutions, and slightly better specular. It seems to me though as if the polycounts of objects are rather similar in both versions. Any other opinions?

All i see is more bloom and slightly more detailed ground textures.

If you compare Crysis 1 (a 2007 game) with Crysis 2 you can instantly spot graphical differences between the two and crysis 1 looking a lot better....

Shadows look pretty terrible on the Xbox version. And moving objects seem to give off a ghost image.

Is it just me, or does the underwater part look a hell of a lot better on the Xbox?
Then again, I suppose I shouldn't expect water anywhere near New York to be clean.

Nice vid. Graphics are nowhere near as good in neither of these systems than in Crysis 1.

I'll be making another comparison video when the PS3 demo hits, I'll also be comparing the final retail versions of the game.

PC have better graphics than XBOX360, mainly the underwater effects.

Good video.

Nice vid. PC looked like a higher resolution and with better lighting. Which is to be expected...

I thinks there′s a pretty big difference.
PC has way better textures.
Lighting effects svck on xbox, compared to PC.
Pc is a lot sharper, obviously.
Shadows are better on PC.
Draw distance is better on PC.

I'd say the differences are definitely apparent though.

Given the way that the PS3 version has been talked down over the last few days, I'm interested to see how it compares to these two.

The PC Version looks much better than the X360 this is something that console fans like myself will have to accept. The PC version being the superior then comes the X360 then the PS3.
PC gamers should always have the best of the best as they always deserve the best.

If anything it's simply down to the age of the console hardware.

I like this guy.

But there should be next gen consoles on the horizon by now it should be that you get to have the option to pay for graphics significantly better than this PC version not far from now, and on PC we should already have it. But it isn't there because Sony MS and many developers are holding up progress and jumping all over mobile technology instead.

I find myself in agreement with pretty much everything you're saying.

The industry is really ready for a large drive onward, but it's taking it's sweet time.

I'm surprised, I thought the two versions looked pretty alike but when you put them side by side the PC version looks significantly better.

Textures are improved, I think the PC textures have some POM applied - I noticed this on the pebbles on skyline. The lighting also looks much richer on the PC. The water does appear better on the XBOX but I think that's due to the fact that the PC has fogging underwater whereas the XBOX doesn't.

Getting a lot of requests for the PS3 comparison, any suggestions on how to do a three way comparison without each segment of video looking too small?

I really don't see that. Visually, Crysis 2 on PC looks much better. Now, when it comes to environment destructibility/interactivity, Crysis 1 wins hands down. But I think Crysis 2 looks much better than 1.

@SupWithThat

Thanks alot for the video. You did a great job.

I don't think doing all 3 in one video is a good idea. The window will be too cramped to see anything at all. If you want to compare the ps3 to both of the other platforms you would have to make a video for PS3 vs 360 and PS3 vs PC.

Yeah I agree, that's probably how I'll do it.

the PC version obviously has the edge but honestly I am VERY surprised they were able to achieve that level of detail on consoles....

I am going to thoroughly enjoy this

That's a good point to be honest, the level they achieved with the consoles is really impressive.

I'm just disappointed that it appears to have held back the PC development, they seem to have forgot who it was that made the first game a success.

I hear that 200 times a day on the Bioware boards about DA:O and DA2

it was the same thing (reversed in its aim) that was said to Epic once they screwed the 360 fans with the PC exclusive chapters of GoW.

to be perfectly honest with you I cannot say I do understand fully your pain tho I can sympathize, I can only be happy I will have a game this good looking and this interesting on my 360.....

The difference is very, very, substle...the only apparent thing is that PC has brighter colors and lighting and slightly better textures but pretty funny though how a 200 dollar piece of hardware can produce almost the same result as a 3000 dollar hardware...lol...This looks like they have cut a lot of the graphics
