Nah. Nobody wants to weight 2 or 3 more years to play Skyrim. They can just release the next Elder Scrolls game a year or 2 after the console comes out.

Obviously the new consoles will be ridiciously priced as well so many consumers could still be on the current generation 2-3 years after it's release.

It won't. It's already done pretty much.

They might make an updated GOTY release with increased graphics and stuff though for it. Which should hold everyone over until TES6.

lmao i am a diablo fan so i have delt with long waits even though i dont like it. if they get it released when they want that is only a year and a half, i think they should continue the path they are on i was just wondering what you all thought.

If they scaled it better for PC (like BF3) we wouldn't have had to wait for xbox720 for a next gen TES :(

All the console players would though. And we'd never hear the end of it.

If you can't afford a new console after having ~8 or so years to save, then you have WAY BIGGER priorities than trying to afford a video game. If you saved $10+ a month since the 360 came out, you'd be set. It's a hobby, and it costs money to fund. svck it up buttercup.

To out "power" the current gen of consoles your looking at an 500+ investment. Dont forget that both will have tons of issues to work out after you even buy the things. So no i hope they release Skyrim on the current Xbox360, then wait a little and see how the next Xbox performs so they have a better understanding of there limits.

They have listed the release date and will not change it. I have no doubt that they have known the release date of the next xbox for a while already.
My Guess is that they will have a Game of the Year Edition with more content ready for the release date.

Dude I'm hoping for as long a PS3 lifespan as possible, I have no trouble saving since 2008 when I first got the system but games cost money , I'm going to struggle getting all the games I want this year alone :(

You're certainly fast... I was just going to post this little tidbit of information. As far as your poll, it's a bit of a tough decision....

I understand. But gaming is a luxury. And technology advances. At some point in time they HAVE to move on.

I thought holiday 2012 at the latest was a more reasonable estimate. Microsoft wants to compete with Nintendo after all, and it isn't that hard to assemble some hardware.

Terribly sorry friend, but I am trying to fund my college education, a rather nice gaming desktop from HP, Adobe and Office programs and other things. The new XBox / PlayStation will just simply have to wait after all that stuph.

Hopefully they don't move on with Skyrim though.

I understand. You obviously have bigger priorities. And it's good you are putting education first.

Whoah... rather nice gaming desktop? Then you don't even NEED the ps4/"720"...

@Dragonborn1^: It's already so late in development, I seriously don't see them waiting at this point. It'd be a 2-3 year wait. Perhaps an enhanced GOTY edition though.

11-11-11... that date is worth MORE than a new console and all its technical glory. It'll be a symbol for the best game evurrz!! And they should release a huge expansion like SI (even though Todd mentioned they might stick to many small ones instead) on 12-12-12!

And to all those struggling with affording games - you don't have to buy everything when it's released. I just finished Dragon Age, bought the Ultimate Edition for like 15 USD. I've saved more than a thousand dollars the last years, I usually buy games one-two years after they're out (I haven't bought a single game for its "new-price" for several years). This will certainly not be the case with Skyrim however :P

No, but you can be sure that Fallout 4 will be on the new hardware.

360, because I'd like to have them start on the next-gen Elder Scrolls right away rather than waiting another year for a poorly-done port.
