I recently purchased a new dvd drive for my xbox, and once i installed it the drive wont reconize xbox games. it only sees them as dvd's

Yah, you have to get it flashed. My friend ordered a disc drive and had to pay and addition 10-15 dollars to get it flashed at some game repair store.

I'm pretty sure, just call and ask.

But, yah, it's common. With the regular disc drive being so prone to breaking and people customizing their console and getting a better looking one (for a clear plate).

I just fixed it all and now my box keeps freezing ugh. I cleaned it all out with airduster so its not clogged or dirty inside. I tried cleanig the chache on my hard drive and even a new hard drive, nothing stops it from freezing. I noticed that the music from the game stops for a moment before the box freezes. I'm getting so frustrated with this POS

Yeah the xbox is a terrible console. My first RRoD, my other stopped playing disks now im on the 3rd one, hope it lasts. I cant wait till they make a new generation of consoles, because they cant make anthing worse. Its a shame the only reason I got an xbox is becuase the gaves are patched better, buggy as sin games or a crap console.

Well im down to either get a noew 360 core system or get it repaired somehow, either way i prolly wont be able to play skyrim on release... :sadvaultboy:
