Xbox Multiplayer Disconection Issues [Migrating Session..]

Post » Wed Apr 29, 2009 2:29 pm

I am having problems connecting and maintaining a connection in Multiplayer on Xbox, and before you suggest it, NO IT IS NOT MY INTERNET, my ping is always green.

So here is my issue. I get into a Mutliplayer game i'm in it for between 30 seconds to 2 minutes (I have had one session that lasted 3 consequetive games and 30 seconds into the 4th it did the same thing) and the game pauses and brings up the message [MIGRATING SESSION...] and then I am transported into my own game on the same map, with the same scores but without anyone else there and I have quite obviously become the host....

This is BEYOND Frustraiting, I purchased this game for several reasons, one being that Richard Morgan wrote the story, but the second, and just important in my view, was having a seriously kick-arse multiplayer that WASN'T COD... I Haven't experienced lag (YET) but that may be because I can't get a multiplayer game that last longer than 2 minutes (AT BEST)...

Will Crytek be fixing and patching this issue on Xbox 360 in the near future? (as in before a month has gone by without being able to play it? because quite frankly that would be a joke) and if not will you be refunding my purchase of the game? Because I won't get a refund from a store for issues online, and if I can't play this online I really don't see the point in having forked out some much cash for it...

A Timely Reply would certainly be appreciated, although a solution to the problem would be even more appreciated......

There aren't5 servers hosting the game, it's players. When a player with a bad connection hosts, it will migrate to another to keep from lagging. They really should figure out a wy to minimize this.

If it were just other players failing connections i'd at the very least experience lag for the short amount of time while i'm in game....

And whats this about chilling? This game has some major issues on release, i've never experienced this many bugs in an of the shelf Xbox360 game bar one [Crackdown] and atleast that wasn't A) a FPS and B) didn't have a honestly competitive, team-based multiplayer content. Crytek's last effort on console was brillant, and while there were some bugs with Far Cry 2, out of the box on release was nothing compared to this mess...... That is the difference working with Ubisoft rather than EA...

And if you read the actual original comments, my problems aren'twith the sloppy AI or some of the other bugs but with not being able to play ONLINE for any significant period.... How precisely would you feel if you couldn't get a through an entire game online every time you tried? Give it Time?..... How about delay the release and do some more beta testing before rushing a product on to the shelves just to make sure it's out before the Bethesda Avalanche..... EA would have known that bringing out this out before Brink or even Rage would ensure sales atleast until the point where people are trading it in for either of those titles..... And if it isn't patched before then i might....

I only bought it for 2 reasons, Richard Morgan's story and the Multiplayer content... so what precisely is it worth after 5 days without the multiplayer......?

I haven't had this happen during a game yet, and i probly have about 10 hours multiplayer. The only problem i run into is if the host migrates out of the lobby and have to restart my search...

Well I seem to be one of the few that are having the [MIGRATING SESSION..] problem this consistently... It is seriously every game I join on Crysis2, I tried again this morning for an hour and couldn't get one game where i wasn't booted into a game by myself.... and just once this morning I became host after the migrating session warning, but still had everyone else in the game and then 30 seconds after the game starts back up again i got migrated straight the **** into my own, empty game...... I mean if i have ZERO problems on AVP in a Fullhouse Species Team-Death Match why the **** can't Crysis work.... We shouldn't have to pay to be the BETA Testers for the online content of a game released on the shelf supposedly finished....

Lol I like that AvP reference, a nobody game that probably wasn't that hyped does better than a hyped game such as Crysis, how pathetic.

Totally... AvP has 3 distinct races with very different play styles and abilties, and you can play Team DM with 3 seperate teams and not have any major problems.. beside maybe some predator spamming the disc/boomerang... it runs just about perfectly considering one race can scale all surfaces and can't shoot, another has a massive jump, tracking weapons and several vision functions and the last being the perfect embodiment of why team work is necessary is shooters.... And that is without mentioning the great game modes like Alien Hunt and Predator Hunt which you don't have grind online for hours and hours just to access....

Don't get me wrong, this game has huge potential, especially for MP, the single player campaign is fantastic, visually immersive with fairly dynamic story telling, the in-game cinematic sections during the campaign rock. It merges some excellent features from other games, The Shoulder narration that Bishock brought us (although Bioshock's is better) The stealth and heat-vision of a Predator, the corporate politics and intrigue of the Military Industrial Complex of the fantastic Half-Life series, not to mention that the microwave cannon seems like riff on the gravity gun..... I even appreciate the limited weapons and regenerative health from Halo, And I don't even like Halo....

I just wish i could get a consistent and stable multiplayer expeirence... even the lag of TeamFortress was bearable compared to this....

NAT = Open?

Cause if its moderate there almost no chance of staying in a game.

Yeh my Nat is Open.... I have Aussie hosts, American, Canadian and I think one Kiwi, it doesn;t seem to matter, i get shifted out of everyone. I haven't been able to find an option to change that honestly, and putting it on my harddrive didn't help my MP connection issues.... and when I am in a game I am not getting any lag, although i did expeirence the 20x music amplification bug while in the multiplayer menus this morning, it seemed to start at the repetition of one of the tracks, not in the middle, suddenly becoming louder but the track starting that loud and sound truly awful, crackling and distorted exactly like an album does when it has been mixed poorly and all the gain and volume has been turned up so far all the volume levels are peaking.....
