I'm heading to town tomorrow to pre-order a few games. One of them is going to be the Imperial Edition for Elder Scrolls Online. The problem is: I wanted to pick the game up for the Xbox One and I'm afraid that its community is just going to be... severely lacking. Microsoft isn't playing nice with Bethesda/Zenimax over the gold membership requirement, and all of the hype for the game has been for PC and PS4. Most people who will be playing the game on console are going to be playing it on the PS4.
I could get the game for PC. I was in the beta - I know I can say that much publicly. I played it. But I'm just not a PC gamer. My computer is on an antiquated writing desk, and suffice it to say that my keyboard and mouse are hardly in ergonomic areas. It hurts my hands to play for an extended period of time. I prefer the comfort of a controller. And my computer is significantly less powerful than my Xbox One.
Will anybody else be getting the game on the Xbox One? Would Bethesda/Zenimax keep the servers going even if it has, say, 50% less players than the PS4 version? I know it'll be up for a while - they wouldn't end the servers immediately even if only 20 people were playing it. But I am concerned about the long-term.
