The thing is though, that's not going to happen. At all.

You have two choices
1. Give it to Gamestop
2. Wait until the save issue is resolved

Or you could play something else until the save issue is resolved. I'm sorry but you won't see a dime.

Yea I was joking around about returning it. I have been keeping up with the forums while playing Red Dead.(people get really defensive)

Some of the people get way too defensive, and argumentative. i don't know why they're on here if they don't want to hear any complaints.

i thought this patch would make me want to play this game finally (the bugs have really turned me off to this game) but now i cant even play my favorite character...

The patch is available? and it [censored]s your game save???? THANK GOD I didn't play today!!! I REALLY hope they fix this by the middle of next week. Next week is finals for me and I want to spend some time playing one of my fav games when classes get out (my last final is Wednesday morning). If my characters (One of which I JUST STARTED) got deleated not only would I not play for at least a couple weeks, but I probably wouldn't buy the DLC anytime soon either. I'm fine as long as I dont download it b4 they fix it, plus I can always refuse the download and play it if they don't have it fixed.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this before, but I thought I should let you all know that if you do get your game working (either by somehow loading your old saves or starting a new one) the is a lovely new game crash that has been added. If you buy multiple Jars of pistol or rifle power at once the game will lock up on you. Buying them separately seams to be ok though.

Also if you want to delete the latest patch you cannot do it the old way, you need to go into the game files on you HDD and delete the "Fallout New Vegas Title Update #3" file doing this allowed me to continue with my old saves... but i had obviously allowed all the old game crashes back in, but al least i know where they are.

lets hope they get this fixed soon.

Obsidian really needs to get their act together. Starting to get a bit frustrated and I've been very patient up until now.

That has mad me so mad that title update 3, all my accounted are corrupted what ever they did they must of not been thinking at all what it could do to peoples accounts.

I took a chance and DL the 360 update and no bad reports at all, all my saves are there and all DLC plus game runs smoother and no freeze at all, hope it keeps up!

I've just noticed that a lot of people have a 360 who play NV, me my power weny out so I couldn't play for two freaking days,but ill saty away untill they have a patch to fix the patch.,which I hope will be very soon cuz I doubt they'll release the new dlc when 360 users have to start a new game

Look.. I'm on the 360 also. I also got the dlc message..
So what?. You just load the game. The game is fine once you load it up.... . No DLC is actually missing. The load order is just screwy so it's reading the patch first and the then the dlc. Once it loads up everything sorts itself out.

And if you are one of the unlucky few who's game freezes up and you can't load any save game you have.. Then they are obviously going to need more details than. "my game froze, ... fix it."

Like.. What's in your inventory? How far into the game are you? Where is your character at?
If you don't know these things and can't remember where you were anyway. Start a new game...

I loaded the patch when if first came out for xbox... I still have the classic pack have all my DM stuff and have loaded saves and all work fine. I have played for a 3-4 hours since and everything works great.

so here's what we know so far:

The term "soon" = 15 days or so.

Then what does "we've already got a fix in place" mean? 1 month? 2 months?

Talk to Microsoft. It's up to them to release the fixed patch.

You can count me in the group that can't use any old saves. I keep getting the same error. Even on a save that is level 2 and hasn't even left goodsprings yet.

Something tells me that bethesda needs to do allot more QA on patches. It's rather dumb that I have to delete things and redownload them, just to fix their messups.

The game doesn't just load up. Almost everyone's game crashes. We're not the unlucky few, you are the lucky few. We are the unlucky majority.

What details do you expect from this, how do we get details when we can't load anything? Besides, who here is a video game programmer?

How do we tell what's in our inventory when we can't open our saves? I can tell you what my latest character is carrying, and the one before him, but after that, I have no clue. My latest character has completely different items then the one before him, same goes for the others. All my characters are over level 20. 3 of them are in the Mojave, and 1 is in the Lucky 38. That's all the information I can get. Unless you want to hear about the items my Josey Wales or Macellare (Butcher) character are carrying.

And why should we start a new game because they screwed up?

I just got the update and started playing. I didn't update the game b4, so I'm not sure if I got the broken update, or that and the fix for it. I got the "stuff maybe missing" notice, but nothing seems to be missing. the upgrade in weapon damage threw me off though...I went from taking 4-6+ shots to take down a radscoption with the sawed off shotgun to them taking only one. I'm worried that this update might have made the game TOO easy. I never had an issue with the difficulty, but I know lots complained of it being too easy already.

Seems hard to me at least, now I have fear to go to Black Mountain in low levels, I mean, the Minigun used by the SuperMutants........ :gun: :shocking:
