Xbox version of Skyrim Thoughts?

Post » Wed Sep 28, 2011 10:08 am

im not here to make you sad or worry, im just stating facts:

Demo impressions left by players who played the Alpha Version of the xbox.

all most all of them claim that the game looks old, and even one said "you can feel that the Xbox is ageing".

the graphics cant be processed as top notch and skyrim cant be seen in its full glory.

some claimed there were alot of framerate issues (could be the Alpha build).

Now for the PC for example Todd himself stated that "Skyrim will melt your Face off" on the PC.

im pretty sure the Timed Exlusive DLC for the xbox that Microsoft are pulling is just to Squeeze more money from xbox, knowing that the Xbox is going to die, probably next year. as more developers complain that xbox 360 hardware is old.

what is thread is all about is i really do hope Xbox players consider getting a decent PC or atleast PS3, just so they can get the full experince of the game.

i know money is a problem im not rich either but managed to buy a decent PC.

Terrified for it beyond any comprehensible reason.
I want it to run atleast as well as Fallout 3 so bad that it hurts....like you have no idea. My paranoia is growing and growing everytime a magazine post they had problems with how it ran....Please don't [censored] me Bethesda....

Alpha build.

Is that the only response people ever give?

The game is going to have bugs, broken quests, framerate issues, balance issues, and a slew of other problems. It's a Bethesda game.

Well I think the current gen still has some life left. I think Skyrim on Xbox look good, just because the PC version will melt your face off does not mean we should rush out and buy a PC, I am a college student so I am waiting to get a good PC within the next year or two...

Just from a typical state that the ps3 and 360 have the exact same graphics and most of what you are saying is pretty much from people that are mainly top of the line pc users.

"Bad graphics" lol? Would you like me to link you to previews that say otherwise, or are you only interested in the negative ones? Since you know....it's not subjective or anything...

Negative Previews are useally the ones that doesnt make everything perfect and what everybody wants to hear, they STATE the Truth thats why you call them Negative previews because you dont want to hear how it really is.

meh, honestly its one thing that annoys me. Im not going be an elitist here, but I do kinda get mad at microsoft because they really should be moving forward. When you realize that this is being made for 6 year old hardware............

Another thing I never understood is why M$ never supports windows. They go allout to get all this exclusive DLC for consoles, but never for PC

Enough with the platform threads, seriously.

How about we just wait and see what the final game is like, cause until then there is no real concrete way of knowing anything. All that can be done is speculate and guess. Which we have pretty much done to death, I propose instead we just leave such things to rest until 11-11-11.
Also, these sort of topics all too often lead to platform bashing and flame wars.

I think the PC will definitely have better performance than Xbox 360, assuming of course you have a decent pc like the op said. Better hardware equals better software in my view and we should an overall better experience than 360 players if you look past the two time exclusive DLCs. Can't wait for Skyrim!

Alpha build of the lead platform from only 5 months before release... how do you think our semi-ported PS3 version will fare?

Trust me, Fallout 3's PS3 DLC were a wreck and the base game wasn't too hot, either, in PS3 performance.

Would you like me to link you to the hardware (or lack thereof) specs of the Xbox? It is physically impossible for Bethesda to make Skyrim look good by today's standards on a console. It will never be on par with a PC (or even some Ps3 exclusives) due to hardware limitations. It just can't happen.

I'm not saying it will look bad, but it won't blow anyone's breath away.

The previews that said the graphics are good, also point out some low res textures and what not. Most of them say that Skyrim is pushing the console to its limit and still looks good overall though. "Bad graphics" was a complete exaggeration on your part. Low res textures? Yes? "Bad graphics"? No.

Agreed. PS3 version is a port from the 360 version...... So is the PC version, now that I think of it...

What i'm saying is that compared to other console games it is completely irresponsible to say the graphics are "bad".

It is really just teaching yourself to be satisfied with less. I have bills to pay, an apartment to rent, school to go to - I can afford $200 - 300 for a 360. I can't afford $900+ for a good enough PC to run Skyrim.

That being said, I still think parts of Oblivion look good and I don't think a game's graphics give it any merit whatsoever. I will live with the screen tearing and frame rate drops, and I'm sure they'll be quite a few. I'm cool with it.
