xbox version.

I've noticed that most of the gameplay footage that i've seen so far is from the ps3.Has anyone seen any footage for the 360 version(if so post the link please)?I have both systems and i would like to know if there was gonna be any difference between the two versions,if one was gonna be better than the other.I got the 360 for my "FPS's"cuz they tend to run smoother and have less issues than the ps3 shooters but i get everything else on ps3.It's funny cuz games like this are usually promoted heavy for the 360 but it seems they took a different route(ps3).

I never understood why people buy an Xbox for one game and then a PS3 for another game? Too much monies I think... Money is supposed to go down your throat in a liquid form..

Opps sorry that was the Irish/Scottish in me...

Huh, I thought the XBox 360 was the typical version used in the videos - I don't really pay attention to that so perhaps I've been wrong this whole time :)

I wouldn't worry about it. The only game I can think of that's noticeably worse on the 360 than PS3 is ff13, and that's because of how late in development it was ported. There is often more video compression on 360 but it's not usually an issue. 360 is easier to program for and more similar to PC, if I had to guess they're probably demoing PS3 so much because they want to get that version right.

However, if you buy Portal 2, definitely get it for PS3

They already used all platforms. Perhaps not in the vids, but they certainly did on expos.
I know for sure that there's atleast 1 non PS3 video out there, just can't remember which one -.-

I believe for the most of the videos, it was a PC with the Xbox controller.

I seen a video earlier with some cute chick hosting that did a brink demonstation with one of the Devs and it was for ps3.Also, if you notice in the multiplayer vids when one of the characters goes to the computers or to plant something it shows them telling the player to press the square button. The 360 does'nt have a square button.

Multiplatform FPS (actually not just FPS but all multiplatform games in general) tend to run better on the Xbox360. This is becuse the PS3 is harder to code for, so they code it for the 360 and badly port it the PS3. but PS3 exclusive shooters tend to run better and have better graphics than the 360 exclusive FPS... though I can only think of right now is Halo, I would mention Gears but thats a TPS.
I'm expecting this game to be better on the 360 version as well, even when developers say their multiplatform games will be just as good or better on the PS3 version. Crysis 2 is a perfect example of this, their demo for the PS3 version didn't even work so they had to take it down, despite their promises that the PS3 version wouldn't be just another bad port.

I say buy it for the 360.

reasonings for people buying on different platforms aside from the fact that they can and want to is probably things like GTA sure part 4 is on the 360 but you've been playing on the ps1/ps2 for so long GTA4 must be on the PS3 so basically it's just a mental block it'd be like playing Fable on the PS3 it's just weird, also gameplay can change severely.

most video's i've seen at the official site was on the Xbox or PC with Xbox controller the one's on youtube you might have seen with Gray background in the Character makers and gun stylers is PS3 but the ones at the Brink site are all Xbox i think you can tell by the big blue "X Mantle" and "A Accept"

Actually, I'm pretty sure PS3 owners were worried about how Brink was doing because there wasn't ANY PS3 gameplay shown until recently. OP must've mainly been watching PAX 2011 videos, or others almost as recent.

How come I never realized this was an XBox version this whole time? I see the blue "X", but it didn't connect, lol! (Must be because I really haven't played my XBOX in about a month and I got it two months ago, lol).

I still can't decide what system to buy it for!

It seems all of the footage of the different systems are pretty good.

The only concern I had was the lag from whatever the PAX people were playing on (PS3?), but I don't know if that's due to server reasons.

I would just buy for the system you have the most/best friends on. I COULD buy it for the 360 or PC if I wanted to, but then I wouldn't be able to play with some buddies on PS3.

They're focusing on PS3 because it's a harder console to program. They're using a beta so they can find bugs so they can fix it so the game can run like on the 360 and PC.

Why is it harder?
I don't see much difference in graphics.

Using a ps3 is find bugs in a PC... it would be kinda similar for a Xbox but still!?!

Programming for the 360 is just simpler, it uses XNA, the same dev kit used for games that run on Windows.

Sony is also known to be less than helpful when working with developers, at least from what I've heard.

I think they are making the games seperatley for each platform, not just making it for 1 and porting it for all the others

He's right though. For some reason DEVS have a harder time developing third party games for the ps3 so what they do is make it for the 360(cuz it's easier)then port it to ps3.Most of the time the end result is the ps3 version being inferior of the two.But when ps3 makes it's exclusives,it's a far different story. The biggest example was Black Ops.That game was horrrible for the ps3 and Pc,damn near unplayable for most users for a while and even though xbox had their problems with it,they were no where as bad as ps3 or pc.I owned both games for both consoles.
