Hi as the title says will Goty disc patch the vanilla disc files with title update?.

Ive just got Goty and have been playing it on my friends xbox as mine was away getting the manditory 4th rrod fixed. Now that i have my console back my friend wants to play Oblivion vanilla until im done with the Goty.

Will the vanilla copy have been patched from the goty disc and so will have the item ID bug running thru it or would it not be affected since its a different disc id?..

My friend doesnt have internet so he cannot get online to patch the game properly so is stuck with the bug atm if it has updated the game. Does anyone know if that is the case?..

Yes, at least on 360. I originally had the first Oblivion, then switched mid-character to the GOTY. Much to my pleasant surprise, I was able to finish the Fighter's Guild quest line, as this was broken in the original game. I don't know what bug you are talking about, but there were a number of fixes I found in the GOTY. There is an Unofficial Oblivion Patch for PC users. I don't know the version number though....
