Pete tweeted again that it's a redguard...

"At quick glance I thought it was a screen of Lucan in his store. Didn't even see the whole left side of the screen. Iz dum."

That was a reply to...

"Heh. I knew you were wrong this whole time. :P There is no way that isn't a Redguard."

Now my question is...who is Lucan?

Anyone know who Lucan is? I've been following Skyrim since they announced it and don't recall a Lucan? Wait...is that the shopkeeper mentioned in the GI article that asks the player to go to a cave and retrieve that golden dragon artifact for him?

See what you've done, Bethesda?

Next time, post an in-game screenshot like http://i51.tinypic.com/2vb76mf.jpg

It's a Redguard. Look at my previous post where I quoted Pete's twitter.

Quote from OXM:

"Example of a 'Radiant Story'. OXM UK recieved a quest to go to Bleak Falls Barrow and retrieve a golden dragon claw antique and take it back to shopkeeper Lucan. If you killed Lucan, the quest would change to his friend Camilla instead."

That was before he posted that follow up to Mr. Tissue Box.

Look at thttp://i52.tinypic.com/2wmia3d.png the guy sitting is a bosmer/some other kind of elf, and the bartender is a nord who is being lighted from behind.
I think petes got something wrong, or hes confused by the weird lighting.

This.
If that is a Redguard, I'm an African. And, well... I'm not...

Maybe a legitimate chocolate face needs to clear this up.... of which I can attest I am.

No one in that picture looks black. Even Derek Jeter looks more African

Pete just tweeted this":A store owner in Riverwood. We show him and his sister in the demo of Skyrim we do. I thought it was a screen of her and him."

Off topic, but I think the mammoth tusk chandelier looks pretty cool in the tavern pic.

What?

Look. Compare Oblivion to that screen. The lighting and graphics are much improved.

The main problem with this topic is people are seeing what they want to see. Kinda like when the teaser came out and people, including myself, were translating the song in English(come to find out it wasn't in English at all) Same thing is happening here. People want to see dark skin on the guy behind the counter... or they want to see an elongated ear, but they lose sight of other possibilities.

Personally, I believe the guy behind the counter is Nord. At first I thought Redguard, but jaw line says Nord to me(he's just in the shadow. Where light is hitting his skin, it is very light in color) As for the guy with the supposed "elf ears" I think people are seeing an ear and some of the mans cheek/jaw or neck and confusing it to be the lower part of an elongated ear. Just my opinion. Though the details of the picture are not very visible so it's not "clear" one way or another.

BGS put out a screen with four npc's and we can't confirm what any of them are? Something not right here? Why are they being so discreet?

When they first revealed Oblivion, do you think people knew the difference between imperial, breton, and Nord?

Yea it's just funny that three of the npc's can't be made out because they are either too zoomed out, the lighting is perfectly being reflected off the bartender making his skin tone not deductible, and the one npc sitting down can't be made out because the screen cuts off. Way to be discreet!

lol at this thread. Can we have a poll on this?!

My vote goes to Redguard. He's standing in the same light source as the barmaid and his skin is much darker. And he's got dreds.

Anyway, I'm more fascinated by the weird crocodile-fish hybrid on the wall, along with the monster moose head.
