lol at this thread. Can we have a poll on this?!

My vote goes to Redguard. He's standing in the same light source as the barmaid and his skin is much darker. And he's got dreds.

Anyway, I'm more fascinated by the weird crocodile-fish hybrid on the wall, along with the monster moose head.

1.) look at the table tops, one is darker than the other.

2.) he's being lighted from behind, look at his shadow around his hands.

3.) Beth probably changed the lighting in some unnatural way to put emphasis on the main lady gal.

What does this mean though? So what the table tops are different colors.

I think its an effect being produced by the lighting, thus everyone who falls on that side of the room will seem darker.

He is trying to say that the NPC in question is in greater shadow and that is why we are mistaking him for a Redguard.

I don't care what anybody says though I've always thought that is a Redguard and Pete confirmed it.

1. The other one has a candle on the right side, the change in darkness on the counter if applied to his skin is makes him still really dark.

2. Absolutely incorrect. Look at his face and his shirt. Both are lighter on his left side (our right). If you look at the shadows on the stool in front of the bar the shading follows practically the same angle. It just slopes down more because the object is farther down than his chest. The shadow you see from his hands is from the bar patron. You can actually see the shadow of his head on the bartender's shirt on his right side (our left). Look for the small circle that is slightly darker than the rest.

3. There is clearly another light source to the woman's left in front of her. You can see the reflection of it in the metal rings on the barrel.

Like 2 weeks ago I told you guys it was a Redguard. No one believed me. In your face gamesas Forums! (lol)

I still don't think he is a redguard look at the guy who's sitting in the stools legs and the shadow they create, and the one you say his torso creates, it seems unnatural.

True it is kind of opposite. But we also have no clue what is past the left side of the screen. I still say it is a redguard, I'm going to do some simple lighting tweaks in photoshop and see if I can clear it up.

The light's catching the side of his head, and not making much of an impact.

I just opened up the pic in photoshop (I don't know why), enlarged it and upped the contrast to get a better look. He's definitely heavily tanned and has some form of dreadlock hairdo. So if he's a Nord he WANTS to be a Redguard!

cool, someone posted http://i52.tinypic.com/2wmia3d.png and you can barely make out a shadow next to the bartenders hand that is not connected to the shadow you say belongs to the guy sitting at the stool.

But even with the light effect applied (I'm guessing just the Lighten effect, not the Soft Light effect which emulates the natural light in the shot better.) he looks a lot darker. That may not be connected but he is still lit up from the front from that chandelier. And just because white people can have dreadlocks doesn't invalidate Gloop's argument. Black women can have straight hair so by that logic the woman in the front of the screenshot is a Redguard if the bartender is a Nord. If you are going to discuss this, please do it with logic like an advlt.

Edit: Those aren't dreads, that is something behind him on the shelf. He has what looks to be a very tight version of the "Fuzzy" Redguard haircut from Oblivion. Its curly and short.

Ok... let's go about this without argument. Black people's hair varies. Some of us have very kinky hair. Some of us have curly hair. But we all still form afros and dreads rather easily.

I have yet to meet one black person, even if they were half white, that did not adhere to this rule. And Redguards are described to have "wiry hair." As for the photo, I see no dreads, and even if I did Id still need to see the texture of his hair to validate whether he is a Redguard or not. The tan skin simply isn't enough evidence.

?? he gloops made it seem like (to me anyway) that the nord bartender (if he is indeed a nord) wouldn't be able to have dreadlocks without wanting to be a redguard. I for one, would love to play as a nord with ridiculously long dreadlocks.(if there is hair physics anyway)

EDIT: please point out what i my posts make you feel i was not discussing this like an advlt?

I'm agreeing with you, I'm just saying that because one white guy has dreadlocks (which the Rednordguard doesn't even have) doesn't mean that all people with dreadlocks are white. That is the logic Oblivifall or however you say his name was using.

Everyone can have dreads, but the end result is very different depending on your hair. You can search day and night for a white dude with dreads like Lil Wayne, but I doubt you'll find him. The greasier and straighter your hair is; the harder it will be for you form dreads.

And yeah Prenup I understand.

What? gloops said he was a heavily tanned nord with dreadlocks, thus he was a nor who wanted to be a redguard, All i did was show a picture of one guy with dreadlocks, not using any logic their And im pretty sure he was joking, as was i.
