Yay For New Hair Styles!

Post » Sat Nov 28, 2015 1:01 am

I was watching Bethesda's E3 Conference and saw some new hair cuts. I must say I'm happy, cause in a Fallout 3 and New Vegas creating your character was hard considering how much limited good hair there was. With these hair cuts I hope I can make one badass, veteran! And I'm also hoping we get Tattoos also.

The more hairstyles the better, I say.

Yes, I cannot complain about the character generator either. It was really the best part of the e3 demo. That and being able to custom design houses!

I am more worried about a cheesy main story lines, heath regeneration and unbalanced combat like NV and Skyrim.

All my women in fallout only have 2 kinds of hair. One is the same hair that Moira Brown had and other is the same hair that Red Lucy had.

all the others hairs just sux.

I wait for good options for girls this time. I want good options of short hair.

I would also like more variations with haircuts & hats. They always just seem to tuck hair under the hat. I'd love to see things like a pony tail coming out the back of a baseball cap.

Ugh... The FO3 and NV haircuts were just awful. I always picked "Blast Back" because the other ones looked like rat nests. But the ones I'm seeing in the FO4 character creation screen look pretty darn good. I saw at least 4 hairstyles I would be interested in.

I'm so glad they have added more hair styles. I know it's kind of trivial seeing I generally play in first person so I won't get to see it, but just knowing I can finally have long hair on a male character that won't look like a terrible 80's pop band makes me happy

I always found it weird that female version of hairs had tufts on them for no reason. Terrosaur - male's shortcut mohawk. Rude ridge - the female shortcut mohawk, except also uncut bangs for some reason.

Same with the ungelled 'flop' mohawk. along with a couple others. Why? Why?! Why these little scraps of unkempt hair sticking out for no reason?!

Combine that with the female models looking awfully like men (and the modded female models too far in the opposite direction) I rarely played females at all.

FO4 is looking much, much better though, which I am very glad of!

Hopefully there are some good ones for women. Hair style really can round out a personality. There were some pretty funky hair styles for women in the 50's. Not that I'd probably use any really funky ones.. .. All I need is an Audrey Hepburn like pixie cut.

Hopefully they added a lot more headgear as well. I like helmets and hats almost as much as I like hair. I don't mind wearing the same shoes for the entire game as long as I can stick things on my head.

Yes ! The FO3 hair cuts go down in history as notoriously awful imo. The E3 hair looked pretty great, just hope the colour options are as robust and we don't get stuck with an MSpaint colour palette selection :unsure2:

Blast Back +1

I even installed some hair mods for Fallout-3 but most of them are too wispy and color-matching is not that great; the core haircuts just look more 'real' to the game world. While I would worry about long hair clipping issues, and likely lack of animation, I'd like them to TRY. Most of my ladies use shorter haircuts, though. Wouldn't mind some out-there looks, just for fun, though (ala Aeon Flux ;D)

Need Dimon Type 3 body for females to look feminine.

Need shoujo race for my girls to look like adolescent girls.

Need the ports of Ren's hairs and some others like Sora's for the hair styles to look decent (twin tail, ponytail, long hair necessary, multicolored as they should be).

BGS won't offer such styles so modders have to offer proper selection for players. Such a shame that the marketing claims are so far off the mark.

Wendy the Welder - every time.

Eh - the old hair was fine, other developers are far worse (I'm looking at you, Bioware). Mods usually come to the rescue pretty quickly - and hair mods are one of the few purely cosmetic mods I bother with and they're usually quite good.

I'm more interested in the character creator as a whole - which appears to be leaps and bounds better than any of their previous games.

I'd love to see some more examples of facial hair, IRL I have a goatee with moustache and shaved head, it's very hard to recreate myself in any game that isn't a wrestling or MMA game.

Dragon Age: Glitchquisition had some horrible facial hair, hope Bethesda does it better.

what all prev games heavily lacked were longish male hair styles.

you got one that looked like skalped right off some anonymous marketing director,

and that other one that looked like above one held in the wind for a minute.

where's curt cobain?

where's bob marley?

where's jimi hendrix?

i want my slacker dread afro :-)

edit: hey, you know what would be cool?

if we could sculpt our hair just like our faces :-))

Wendy is my favorite for women because you don't have to worry about clipping when you're wearing a hat.

Pfffff. Crew cuts for male and female. No fuss, no muss. You can wash your hair when you wash your face, just move the washcloth higher. Need to brush your hair? You can do that with the palm of your hand. (If you have a hook for a hand, remember which hand is the hook and use the other. DON'T FORGET WHICH IS WHICH!!!)

Long hairs and pompadours for males.

Oh, and we also need more long and medium-length hairstyles for females. And a ponytail.

I agree. The hairstyles were pretty bland in Fallout 3 so it's great to see some new options as well as returning options. Hopefully it's the same thing for facial hair because the facial hair needed to be thicker in my opinion. Hopefully the huttonstache returns thicker like a proper Scotsman!
