So, yay or nay on the unofficial patch?

I seem to read mixed views on rather the unofficial patch is worth getting. Mostly possitive, but enough negative to make me wonder (and no I cant remember where). From what I've also read, the broken steel part of the patch is corrupt and will cause crashing in and around Rivet city, although the fix is supposedly on mediafire. I just bought GOTY, installed it and a bunch of mods everything runs great, no crashes, no conflicts so far. So is the patch really going to be any type of improvement for me?

The patch fixes a hell of a lot of problems still left after the official patches, so, yes it would be useful to anyone. Got to mention I've never encountered any kind of crashing related to the UFP being activated, not around Rivet City or anywhere.

Your game runs great with a bunch of mods and doesn't crash - why risk it?

I run the game with a boatload of mods (UFP included) with only an occasional crash. The only problem I have with it is losing my super uber followers, but that can be solved with the help of GECK.

Never had any problems with the Unofficial Patch, I currently have 120 mods installed and I use FO3Edit to create a merged patch. I do have the fix for the Broken Steel part of the Unofficial Patch so I don't get any crashes in or near Rivet City, but for me crashes are a rare thing anyway! There could be any number of reasons why some people get crashes and others don't, asking for people's opinions on whether or not YOU should use the Unofficial Patch will not give you any sort of definate answer, you'll just end up with a mix of yays and nays. The only real way you're going to know is to install it and see how things go!
