So yeah, gonna fly away now, cheers.

Was fighting with a blood dragon for about 10 minutes 1 on 1, got him to a hair of HP left was just waiting for him to get closer so I could land my killing strike and that [censored] just decided to disengage and fly away. Did this happen to anyone else?

Ouch that is painful! Sorry to hear about your near-success and ultimate failure. I had an issue with an ice dragon not landing on the ground until he was nearly dead. It took me 20 or so minutes of shouting at him to bring him down to that point (no magic or archery on that character). I thought he'd never land and keep me shouting for another 10-15 minutes at least.

Hah, I can image just screaming at him for whole time to force him to land. My dragon destroyed half of fauna in the woods. Think I've picked enough leather to craft a few leather sets. He also never landed, just keep flying around at full speed before leaving.

While I can understand this must be insanely frustrating - and I'd be cursing at my laptop if this happened to me - it's also admittedly smart that the dragon does this.

I had an almost dead one land on top of that tower at the mages college. He hid up there for a while then came back down with about half his health bar for round two. I figured it was part of the Dragons Are Smart thing; going off to heal a bit. Did you stick around to see if it came back?

Right ouside Riften? If so, yeah! That jerk flew off after landing a few times and the whole nine yards. I kept reloading at the gate, then jumping up on the stables to get his attention with some destruction spells and managed to engage him about five times. Each time he flew off into the mountains before I could kill him. I even chased him and couldn't find him anywhere, so I eventually gave up.
