12.5 Years of Morrowind

A couple of days ago it was 12.5 years since i bought MW. It just hit the shelves, and I wanted it BADLY.

By the Nine, this Game hit me like an avalanche. It had almost everything i ever wanted from a game. And it was great for a couple of years. And then one of my Heroes accidentally killed the Merchant Mudcrab, and another (L60+) was yawning most of the time.

These events made me click the other button (TES CS), and i tweaked the MM a bit, did some other things and before i knew it, i was on a Path of No Return.

For 9.5 years, i've been tweaking and tuning and testing and developing a Mega Mod. About half a year ago i revamped this Project and by the 9.5, it's just about great enough to publish a new Edition, the Xmas 2014 edittion, or the MW12.5Y Edition. Whatever.

But whom am I publishing it for? Does anyone care? I don't know. I'm quite reluctant, as i've put so very much effort in it, the last 4 months. To me, the Mod has an almost religious level of perfection, so it's the Game i'll be playing (and tweaking and expanding) till i die. And if no one cares, i won't mind and i won't publish it either.

The Mod's Site is http://azuras-touch.com and except for the Ebony Arrows of Slaying, everything mentioned in the last 40+ Messages is up and running in the Xmas Version. It has the horrifying Spawning (ever been eaten by a shoal of Piranhas?), it has the Imbudor, it has Town Guards deflecting to IS, it has - well, it frightens a Level 70 Hero more often than not.

It has Great Moments of Peace and Relief as well. We survived a huge battle that lasted for half an hour (Earth Time), and now we (Hero and Player) summon a bit and exchange heavy stuff for great missing set bits or build enormous constructions from everything we looted during that semi armageddon.

And we have Friends everywhere, and - and if there aren't, we have ways to put them there... Or Hostiles...

Well, after 12.5 years, MW never really went stale to me. Greatly due to the 50+MB i added...

Actually, i'm tired. This Mod and Reality, svck the last bit of Energy out of me.

But i just can't stop

And now that i'm seriously into Scripting, everything i dreamt of when i started, becomes possible. MW Script is so bloody addictive...

Yesternite i got the Deflectting Guards (only ative when a certain condition is met) working, only i was testing it with very short respawn times, so tthe visit to Caldera was quite halucinatory.

And today i finished Rick's lines on the Amazing Imbudor.

You have any idea how much ttime went into the Imbudor's Background Script? No Game Firm want to pay that, it takes a Modder to be the idiot that does it... :-)

Anyway. There's not gonna be much more from me this year. But ahm not ded yet!

I imagine a great many of us do, yes. Modding can be very addicting, more addicting than playing the game itself. In fact, to me, modding is "the game." :D

Try to kill a friendly creature nowadays ...

The Creature will never hurt you, but its Protectors will. Instant Swarms and Hordes. DON'T. Or, if you're confident enough, try! Darkness Descends. Scorched Earth! Never a dull moment.

Phew. And now it's up to Thee.

Have a pleasant stay on our not so little island ...

You've got a point here. Whatever one enounters, one knows one can tweak it just that liitle bit to suit one's needs...

Isn't such a Game just Brilliant? Did they (Beth) anticipate it?

Doesn't 12.5 Years, 1 Million Tears, allow for a celebration? I say it does.
