In the process of installing Morrowind GOTY to win 7 64 , As you can see MGE looks great , except the for the yellow NPC. I have warnings concerning NOM, so I will look into that. But I though I would post to see if anyone else has had this issue

I'm pretty sure that means you have missing meshes. i could be wrong though. are you your mods are installed correctly?

Jyggalag is correct. You are missing meshes from a mod. Make sure that all of the meshes from every one of your mods have been added to your Data Files folder. This goes for textures, sounds, icons, and all the rest of the art files needed by your mods as well.

Alternatively to figure out which mod was missing the meshes couldnt he run the game while turning off one mod each time to see which one was the problem?

Yep thanks all,
When I install GOTY , yesterday, to my new win 7 64 PC
I first just copied the entire Morrowind directory from my now redundant XP PC to another drive. I then copied it back to win 7, on my new PC . I just use the GOTY disk , to create the reg and directory setting, in Win 7. So It seems that some stuff did not transfer well , which seems weird , but with 157 mods , I was looking for a faster way.

It was just wondering if any one else had seen this problem, and to try and narrow it down. But its fixable so, I'm just glad all my save games work, even if the NPC are yellow !

Well, I think it's fair to say that every one of us who uses mods regularly has seen this problem at east once. Believe me, it's not unique to you! ;)

A good way to approach the problem is to use the binary method. Disable one half of your mods, start a test character and see if the problem persists. If the problem is gone, you know your missing meshes come from a mod in that group. If the problem persists, you know your problem mod belongs to the other group. Divide those 90 mods into two groups and perform the operation a second time. Continue dividing groups of mods into halves until you are down to the problem mod.

Binary method takes a long time.
It's much quicker to just use the ORI console command.

Open the console, click on the object (in this case, the big yellow blob) type ORI and then hit enter.
Info on the object will be shown, including what esp it is from.

would that catch missing meshes added by mods to vanilla NPCs? never used the ORI command, so i dont know.

It should, but it might also just read the NPC as you point out.
And as long as it's not from plugin-less replacer.

that's it. the best is to go closer and have a look. what is missing? is the npc standing there lacking it's clothes/hair/shoes? Is the whole npc gone? is it hands and neck? so you can see what mod it could be.

It's 0450 here so I'll post another Closer screen shot tomorrow , just so we can all see. I will try that console command too , very cool , and the binary method, sounds painful, but practical so thanks.

Yes , I'm using BB. The Problem has been ,http://www.fliggerty.com/phpBB3/gallery/image_page.php?album_id=87&image_id=366 I had backed up the Meshes and Texture Folders a while back, so I just copied them back.
So when you said " I get the exact same problem when I don't use the installer." problem solved It's the meshes so. cheers all , for the input.
Remember to BACKUP your Meshes and Textures. Imagine if I hadn't, the binary method, and 5 hours later.

In the process of looking around as you do , I came across this http://www.fliggerty.com/phpBB3/gallery/image_page.php?album_id=87&image_id=367, So meshes are fixed, no more yellow NPC. Nothing is missing no errors or warning txt, when game is loading , but now there are two buckets, any ideas. ? where do I start looking ?

have you tried "repair all" on the save with wyre mash?

might be something from mods that need to be merged.... usually it's NPCs doubling, but i'm fairly sure objects can do the same under the same circumstances.

Yes I have used the repair all ,the save are purple and clean, I have also seen NPC double as well, I think I need to read up a bit , so I know what questions to ask . and objects do double , hence two buckets, image link, in above post.

In Wrye Mash, Make sure you Update your Save so that's Synced to your Load List before you use Repair All.

Also, have you used http://code.google.com/p/mlox/wiki/Mlox yet? Perhaps you're using two esps of the same type, when you were supposed to only use one, Mlox should be able to tell you.

Will try and use this method, to see which mod is causing the doubling of the buckets, will post back with results, but I think "Sister" could be right about it been a NOM cause, for the buckets, But I don't know how NOM would cause the NPC doubling that I saw.
