Yes, another Auto Armor Thread

Post » Wed Apr 17, 2013 6:47 am

Hey guys, so I know this is like the 3472710385645 thread about Auto Armor, but I just wanted to share with you my feelings about the subject.

So I play on PS3, and yesterday I was playing TDM and was getting mauled by a player named jdubv, and another named darkarcher. Both of them were highly skilled players (which is usually a fun exciting challenge for me because I am fairly decent at the game), and were getting oh around 35-45 kills per game. Keep in mind, this is Team Deathmatch.

The connection wasn't the greatest, but I was only getting 2-3 kills and dying about 20-25 times. I was getting very frustrated, because i am fairly decent with the bow myself and killing AA users normally isn't that hard, but it can be annoying sometimes. And after I left the lobby with those 2 players, I was going about 18-5 on average for the next 5 or so games. Highly skilled players who use AA can be extremely deadly and it can make the game not fun.

I think there should be a certain level where AA should be non usable. Because I do understand the reason for it (weening beginner players into the game to let them get the handle of the gameplay). But I think that once a player reaches a certain level, it should not be usable. Or, if you do still want to use it, use the standard class sets. This doesn't sound that bad but it was extremely frusterating. For a highly skilled player with AA, it's like running around at Maneuverability speeds with full armor on.

Sorry this is a lengthy post, and if jdubv and darkArcher are on here, I am not trying to start anything. You 2 are extremely skilled players. I just wanted to explain how I feel AA should be capped after a certain level. It takes away the way the game is supposed to work.

Myself and many others agree with you. We have created a thread addressed to Crytek about this and some other issues here: http://www.gamesas.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=58&t=64403

I understand that just because you are a high level doesn't mean you are not a noob. But what I am saying is that AA takes away the mechanics of the Crysis series (switching from Maximum Armor to Stealth by yourself) If you are a 5th prestige and are still using AA, you should be playing a different game because you are not playing the game the way it is meant to be played. AA should just be used for maybe the first 15-20 levels so players can get the hang of the controls, and then, move on.

I've heard this argument before too. Auto Armour was created for "new" players, not for "noob" players, there's a difference. It's meant to introduce you to the functions of the nanosuit. After the 30+ hours required to reach level 50 you should be able to find your Armour mode button.

That being said, why should I be relegated to the ultra svck pile when I can at least be in the semi-svck pile with AA lol. I'm old and don't have your quick reflexes. Teach me to play like you, and I'll gladly drop AA. I've watched your videos, it hasn't translated into me dominating anything yet :(

That is exactly what I was trying to explain. Whether you are a level 50, or a 5th Prestige, you should definitely be able to find your Armour button.

I sure hope Crytek has something up their sleeves in the next coming months.
