YES MAN VS HOUSE

Post » Sun Jul 17, 2011 4:02 am

Seriously, all I see is blah blah blah Legion vs NCR.

What about House? And Yes Man/Independent? Well, they're not directly opposed as the Legion and NCR are, but I feel like it should be decided, or meaningless debated without either side actually agreeing.

I wild carded my first playthrough. Didn't much like the ending, as it was, y'know, anarchy. And Yes Man "changes his personality"? Suspiciouuuus.

Mr House is a bro. I've been warming to him as best choice overall, really. Even if he does just care about the Vegas. So yeah, House.

I will have to say that House easily trumps over mere anarchy.

There's still something very shady about House, but that's left to another discussion.

House is the only one competent enough to succesfully run and rehabilitate the mojave and his control will ensure much greater economic, thechnological, and scientific progress.

The other factions cannot be charged with the keeping of someplace so vital as Hoover Dam or New Vegas.

Why, you ask?

BECAUSE THEY'RE RIDICULOUS!

House wins by a landslide, Yes Man is somewhat funny but that's it.

I prefer yes man just because you can deal with each faction as you like and you don't have to exterminate any metal wearing factions from the game.

House all the way. No contest.

Yes-man creeps me the heck out and I don't trust him or the idea of anarchy.

I prefer Mayor House over Mayor Six. Yes Man makes a trusty advisor, however House has more "experience" in the handling of Vegas and in diplomacy all together. It was through House's genius that he survived the wrath of Sithis NCR by making a "treaty" and using the Legion to his own ends. No offense to the Courier, but I'm not sure what he could do if 2 opposing armies came knocking on his doorstep coming to claim what is his.

Mayor House for life!

The Courier would demolish both armies in stylish demigod fashion. :celebration:

The Courier actually could, if siding with Elijah in Dead Money became canon.

Yes man is one of the biggest abortions in video game history.

He is advertised to give you control, but in reality you can t make a single choice during the end game. He is House lite.

A very poorly written element to fo nv. I don t even recognise Yes man as being in the game. Waste of time......

It pisses me off even writing in this tread about it.

Yes Man is a god amongst men.

But I'd go with Mr. House overall.

House. The man knows how to run the place and he has an army of securitrons. Also he stopped almost all the bombs who was going to hit vegas.

You DO have control. You decide what happens to the tribes of Vegas. He gives you CONTROL over the fate of Kimball. He gives you CONTROL as to how you should deal with Hoover Dam. I think you're just blinded with bias against Yes Man.

I think Yes Man was put into the game as an alternative to House without needing a detailed character. Also, he's kind of humorous in his manner, I must admit in my first play through I was tempted to kill House and plant Yes Man in the 38. I still might try it.

House is obviously a genius, and has a plan. Hey, is that Odo's voice I hear ????

eh, to be quite honest its really Mr House VS Your toon. If ya do a wildcard playthru, it felt like there was only anarchy because, i mean hey u got rid of all the leaders , so of course people at first aint gonna know whats the !@#$ going on and people are gonna take advantage of tthe situation, but eventually u lay the smack down and people got used to u as the top man and got used to it. things had been going on for so long with the ncr vs legion, mr house controlling NV, they no longer there.

now if this was whos a cooler charector between MrHouse vs Yesman, then by all means mr House, but as far as the fate at the end.........u mean to tell me that i walked the desert helping out literally tons of strangers and got involved in pretty much everyones business and solved their problemsthat my toon aint gonna do a good job being the head huncho....now if ya was devilish bastard playing thru and was sabotoging the stability then yes mr housewouldbe better.

I believe that we've seen what sentient computer overlords can do to your flock..
I sort of like Yes Man more since it guarantees that your character will be deciding fate of Vegas for years to come, which is a good thing at least for my characters, but it is a very short-sighted plan since no one knows what will happen once the Courier dies/leaves the scene. But then again, nothing is eternal.

House is a genius and the best rational option (we could be back to space in 50 years!) BUT Yes Man is simply hilarious! I always remember when I told him that I wished to ignore the BoS and he said "OKay. Consider them forgotten! Along with the projections that predict they will be our biggest enemy! Forgotten!"

note I say "during end game" He tells you what to do. You can t tell him a single thing.

I wanted to use the securitrons to help NCR. I put yes man in and was railroaded into kicking NCR out. I couldn t even save the NCR president. There were two options when he told me House wanted to save him. "They won t let me near him, they hate me,"(which was not true) and "I don t care about Kimbell." No " Yeah, I ll go save him." So the NCR president dies, and I had no option to try to save him.

Then he just ordered me around and I had to kick NCR off the dam. Which was not my intentions. With yes man you should have been able to use the securitrons to help NCR.

That's stupid. You defeated the NCR at Hoover Dam. You chose a different path. How can you expect the Yes Man ending to help the NCR? If you want to help the NCR, work for the [censored] NCR.
