Yet Another Load Order Help WITH A TWIST!

Post » Wed Jan 08, 2014 11:04 pm

THE TWIST IS: There is no twist! (I'm sorry)

Yeah. The topic title says it all. I'm experiencing occasional massive lag spikes when I turn around in outside environments. Also some occasional CTDs and freezes.

i5 2500 @ 3.3GHz (Stock)

8GB DDR3 RAM @ 1333Mhz
NVidia GTX 460 1GB (Factory OC'd)
Windows 8 Pro 64-Bit (Drive C)

Skinrim installed on Drive D (I'm not sure if this makes any difference)

-Playing on Skyrim Legendary Edition.

-Running on SKSE 1.9.32.0

ALSO! I'm uncertain as to how bashed patch works. I used Wyre Bash's "Rebuild Patch" function on the Bashed Patch.esp. I'm not sure what else I should do with Wyre Bash.

ALSO ALSO! Should I clean up dirty edits? Do those make any difference?

ALSO ALSO ALSO! Thanks and happy new year :3

Many aspects...

What is the screen resolution you are playing at? Your video card is not the strongest.... Install the Skyrim Performance Monitor (available on Nexus) and see what is going on during your gaming sessions. If you are running a lot of hi-res texture mods and Ultra settings, the lags could in parts be load-related. Normally these type of lags are more pronounced on the outside than on interior cells. Playing the game off a SSD definitely helps a big deal. A HDD is relatively slow compared to an SSD.

Who did the install order (load order) for you? BOSS? If so, it should be 99.99% good.

Yes Bash is mainly for (re)building the Bashed Patch. But it is also very good for doing the actual mod installations. Note there are several options when you are "rebuilding" the patch. Note there is a good help file included with WB which opens in your browser when you click the Help icon in the status line at the bottom of the WB window.

Edit: sorry forgot... yes most definitely clean any unclean mods in TES5Edit. In most instances BOSS will advise you which .esp's need cleaning. However, there are cases where BOSS says nothing but the mods still contain some ITMs and UDRs. This is because BOSS relies on mod users reporting about these issues. So you may want to check even the .esp's that are not stated to be unclean.

Make sure you rebuild your Bashed Patch every time your load order changes. Cleaning dirty edits can prevent potential CTDs and is recommended if you have a spare 15 minutes to go through your mod list using TES5Edit. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fw3g_N1jcZQ for cleaning the master files, same concept applies to cleaning user-made mods.

Looking at your load order Immersive Patrols, especially Immersive Battles, can put a strain on your system when outside. Try removing the modules one by one until you reach stability. I haven't used Civil War Overhaul, but that will proably eat up performance when near battles from that mod. Lag spikes can also be caused by using too much VRAM, so you can also try disabling high-res textures and ENB mods if you're using one. Hope that helps.
